BLACKPINK’s Lisa<\/a> is no stranger to the spotlight, but she\u2019s proving she can do more than just perform on stage. After turning heads with her acting debut in season three of The White Lotus<\/em><\/a>, the K-pop superstar is set to take on her first major film role in Netflix\u2019s upcoming action thriller TYGO<\/em>. Did someone say triple threat? Here’s what we know about her latest on-screen accomplishment.<\/p>\n

What is TYGO<\/em> about?<\/h2>\n

For the uninitiated, TYGO<\/em> is part of the Netflix and AGBO Extraction<\/em> universe, which follows Tygo, a former child soldier turned mercenary. After a mission goes wrong, Tygo sets out for revenge against Korea\u2019s criminal underworld.<\/p>\n

The Extraction<\/i> films<\/a> (of which there are several), are all based on the graphic novel Ciudad<\/i> by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, and Anthony Russo. Each one depicts a different search-and-rescue mission taking place somewhere across the world. TYGO<\/em> is the first time the story will descend on South Korea.<\/p>\n

And no, you’re not imagining it: TYGO<\/em> isn’t the first Extraction<\/em>-related project to be announced in 2025. A new Extraction<\/i> series was announced earlier this year, with the likes of \u00a0Omar Sy, Boyd Holbrook and Natalie Dormer starring.<\/p>\n

Who\u2019s involved?<\/h2>\n

In addition to Lisa, we’ll see Don Lee (who’s best known for roles in The Roundup<\/em>, Train to Busan<\/em>, Marvel\u2019s Eternals<\/em>) and Squid Game<\/em> star Lee Jin-uk in the cast.<\/p>\n

Lisa has described the role as a dream come true, saying, \u201cI\u2019m so honoured to be a part of this project and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such incredible actors. Being in an action film has always been a dream of mine, and for my first movie role to be in such an exciting action film is a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

When does it come out?<\/h2>\n

Unfortunately for us, Netflix hasn’t yet announced an official release date for TYGO.\u00a0<\/em>We’re guessing it could hit the streamer in late 2026, but we’ll settle for a teaser trailer to tide us over until then…<\/p>\n
