Enter: Letterboxd Video Store.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The platform (which originated in New Zealand) has been around since 2011, yet it was lying somewhat dormant until Gen Z got involved. Now, Letterboxd set to move beyond a place for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.russh.com\/queer-letterboxd-reviews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">meticulously-crafted views<\/a> and curated watchlists, to become home to the blockbusters themselves. Yep, with Letterboxd Video Store, you&#8217;ll be able to rent the movies everyone&#8217;s talking about, from the comfort of your device or television stream. Even better, there&#8217;ll be none of those pesky late-fees that video renting of the early aughts came with. It&#8217;s t<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he epitome of a full circle moment for an already beloved platform, and one we are embracing with open arms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>When will Letterboxd Video Store land?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Very soon. The film rental platform officially launches <strong>on December 10, 2025.\u00a0<\/strong>It will be available in 23 countries:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">United States<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Canada<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">United Kingdom<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Ireland<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">France<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Spain<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Australia<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">New Zealand<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Germany<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Austria<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Italy<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Sweden<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Norway<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Denmark<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Finland<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Iceland<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Netherlands<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Poland<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Portugal<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Belgium,<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Switzerland<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Greece<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Cyprus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What actually is the rental service?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before your eyes roll into the back of your head about signing up to yet another streaming platform, Letterboxd can\u2019t stress enough that &#8220;this isn\u2019t a subscription service! No lock-in, no paywall. Just the films you want, whenever you want, and join the conversation with our community logging, reviewing and adding them to lists\u201d. The platform won\u2019t just be another cookie-cutter rental service, either: it will also entail festival standouts, long-waitlisted titles, and restorations and rediscoveries of older films.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What will you be able to watch?<\/h3>\n<p>Letterboxd Video will launch with nine films. These will be seperated into two shelves: &#8216;Unreleased Gems&#8217; and &#8216;Lost and Found&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Unreleased Gems are described as &#8220;Must-see films caught between acclaim and availability. Only on Letterboxd Video Store, for a limited time only.&#8221; They will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>It Ends<\/em> (2025)<\/li>\n<li><em>Score: A Wife From The Future<\/em> (2025)<\/li>\n<li><em>Kennedy<\/em> (2023)<\/li>\n<li><em>The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo<\/em> (2025)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lost and Found films are described simply as &#8220;underseen underdogs with stellar star ratings.&#8221;
