June is here and, in case you hadn’t noticed, it’s brought with it a biting chill. While we haven’t exactly made peace with the seriously icy temperatures that have descended on Australia this month, there’s at least one silver lining: winter fashion. For much of the year, the mild weather here in the Southern Hemisphere means jackets and boots live exclusively on our Pinterest boards. And so, it’s something of a novelty when the notion of rugging up enters fashion’s lexicon for a few fleeting months.<\/p>\n

Superfine knits and warmth-trapping base layers are a want, not a need. Doing it well is A Emery, with its lightweight merino wool pieces (that can stand on their own just as well as under a jacket), and Lee Mathews, which is making a case for injecting colour into your knitwear. For those amongst us lucky to be making the pilgrimage to warmer pastures in Europe, there are a few warmer weather pieces that have caught our eye.
