We’re well into spring and not far from the glorious summer heat. So what are we reaching for when the weather is warm but we still want to look smart? We’re here to report the answer. Behold: crisp, lightweight tailoring and even a little colour sprinkled in.<\/p>\n

We’re seeing a trend in the RUSSH<\/em> office, with our favourite seasonal tailoring \u2013 hailing from brands like Jil Sander, Elka Collective<\/a>, Lover and Lee Mathews \u2013 all leaning into function and fun, with string ties appearing as a frequent design detail.<\/p>\n

Whether you’re on the hunt for weather-appropriate (and chic) workwear, or your street style leans corporate, we present our favourite tailoring-inspired selects of the season.<\/p>\n

Loving this Charlie Blazer<\/a> and Suiting Short<\/a> from Wynn Hamlyn (particularly styled with tall black boots or heels \u2013 like these Petra heels from Victoria & Woods<\/a>). I also tried on this gorgeous Jil Sander shirt<\/a> recently and fell in love (it is reduced to clear at David Jones, so maybe it\u2019s time). Lemaire has also come out with some gorgeous grey suede bags<\/a> that I love at the moment.<\/p>\n

Soft, tailored pieces are some of my favourite and most worn pieces. I feel like they can be dressed up or down, worn to work or to lunch. So naturally, I always have a few on my wishlist. At the present, I have this brown tailored set from Faithfull<\/a> at the top. I have a few pairs of the Faithfull linen pants already and I wear them to death. I also want a neutral-toned vest top to wear with jeans. I really love this Elka Collective iteration<\/a>. But I\u2019m also eyeing off this light green Viktoria and Woods one<\/a>. I could also be swayed to this cream DISSH version too<\/a>, but I already have it in the red colour. Finally, I\u2019m obsessed with this pair of Lover pants<\/a> \u2013 to the point I was tempted not to put it in my list in case they sold out before I had a chance to buy!<\/p>\n

I can’t help but enjoy a bit of tweed. This Anna-May tweed vest<\/a> and matching Elisha tweed pant<\/a> from LEO LIN really get me riled up into spring\/summer. I’ve also been loving dresses work and can’t go past this gorgeous Polly Dress from D\u00d4EN<\/a>. The drop waist is very flattering. I’d pair it with some Maison Margiela Tabi’s. These in particlar<\/a> are in my cart as I type.<\/p>\n

P.Johnson has the crisp white shirt of ones dreams. The Christy Cropped Shirt – White Rib<\/a> is on my wishlist. Lastly, Friend of Audrey’s The Palazzo Trouser<\/a> is the perfect statement trouser for the office.<\/p>\n

There are few things that I love more (sartorially) than a well tailored suit. It is perfect for almost any occasion and I have an ever growing collection of ties. I\u2019ve been searching for the perfect double breasted blazer and may have found it in Beare Park\u2019s Griffin Blazer<\/a>, and yes, black is a perfectly suitable spring colour. However, if I wished to soften into a dark brown, I love this from Magda Butrym<\/a>. P Johnson Femme has some perfect pieces for spring tailoring, such as the Ava Blazer in Taupe<\/a> and I love the chocolate brown shirt<\/a>. I also love the Aya set<\/a> from Camilla and Marc and would be great for the warmer evening.<\/p>\n

I went into the Beare Park store the other day and tried on (and loved) their double layered blue shirt<\/a>. Such a fun spin on a simple staple piece. Another piece is their Nicole trouser\u2019s<\/a>, I already have these trousers in beige and love them so much. And while these two aren\u2019t suiting per se, they definitely are quality craftsmanship. I think Tiffany and Co\u2019s hardware microlink ring in gold<\/a> is extremely special. And last but not least, Monika Ruggerino\u2019s 9kt classic belcher chain bracelet<\/a>. I see Emily wear her necklace in that chain in the office, and I am so in love with it. So simple and classy.<\/p>\n

Tailoring, for me, is more of a feeling<\/i> than a formula. I love when fabric and shape do the work like these striped, lightly sheened pants from Beare Park<\/a> and Deiji Studios<\/a> – they instantly sharpen a simple tee. Grey suiting-like material like Venroy\u2019s paper-bag-waist pant<\/a> or this structured tank from Mode Mischief<\/a> also give a structured appeal while keeping it fresh. Tailoring doesn\u2019t have to mean compromising on comfort – I love that most of these pieces have elasticated waists or breathable fabrics (and can blend into work and weekend wardrobes).<\/p>\n

When I need polish, I reach for a Lee Mathews wide-leg pant<\/a> and what I consider the perfect white shirt from Theory<\/a>. A double-breasted blazer like this one from Sandro<\/a> or the most divine bag from Balenciaga<\/a> can always pull together a casual look to feel more serious<\/i> too.<\/p>\n

My version of tailoring is pretty relaxed and mainly consists of oversized shirting, soft silks, grey and blue tones, and of stripes. (Which is probably why I always like to keep things playful with a bright nail colour).<\/p>\n

Lately, I\u2019ve been living in this set by Lee Mathews<\/a>. I especially love the drawstring detailing on the pants<\/a>. Lee has always mastered the art of oversized cotton shirting, and this season I keep reaching for this crisp white one<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These silk pants from SIR<\/a> have also made my way into regular rotation. I like pairing them with this crisp blue shirt by Matteau<\/a> and a simple strap sandal<\/a> or leather thong<\/a>. My Dragon Diffusion bag<\/a> is my daily go to for work, though sometimes I swap it out for a classic brown or black leather tote<\/a>. For jewellery I always have these Mejuri gold hoops<\/a> in my ears. I also have very special vintage rings from my mum that I am lucky enough to wear.<\/p>\n

Shorts! I have a real love for tailored shorts at the moment. <\/span>Beare Park is doing them really well<\/span><\/a>, but I also like <\/span>this pair<\/span><\/a> from Cotton On if you\u2019re looking for something slightly more affordable. A good suit is a classic year-round, but I like leaning into lighter colours during the spring and summer seasons. This <\/span>off white tuxedo blazer<\/span><\/a> by Rohe is great, and would pair well with <\/span>these relaxed pants.<\/span><\/a> Faithfull also <\/span>do a great one<\/span><\/a>, and the fact that it\u2019s in linen makes the whole thing feel a lot more relaxed. Finally, I would be lost without a crisp white shirt. I prefer mine oversized, so<\/span> this one by Toteme<\/span><\/a> is perfect.<\/span><\/p>\n
