If like us, you have been waiting with bated breath for the release of HBO’s new cultic series,\u00a0Nine Perfect Strangers<\/em><\/a>; then you would already be familiar with Grace Van Patten. The American actor is certainly cementing her place as one of Hollywood’s hottest actors in 2021; and her latest role, starring in the series adaptation, Tell Me Lies<\/em> is the most recent notch on her acting belt.<\/p>\n

Based on Carola Lovering’s 2018 novel by the same name; the series follows Lucy Albright (Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco over the course of their tumultuous eight-year relationship. The series is being executive produced by Emma Roberts; and was first announced as being in development at Hulu back in September 2020.<\/p>\n

As tends to be the case with many of our favourite book to screen adaptations<\/a> (hello Big Little Lies),<\/em> there’s more Van Patten’s character than one might initially perceive. And who doesn’t love a healthy dose of suspense, thrill and mystery?<\/p>\n

As we wait to see Van Patten take the screen opposite Nicole Kidman in the coming weeks, we’ll be indulging in every detail we know so far about her new role in\u00a0Tell Me Lies<\/em> (including ordering Lovering’s book of course). What is Tell Me Lies\u00a0<\/em>about?<\/h3>\n

The series follows the story of Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco, who like many young couples, met at college; one of the most formative periods of their young adult life. “Although their relationship begins like any typical campus romance, they quickly fall into an addictive entanglement that will permanently alter not only their lives, but the lives of everyone around them.”<\/p>\n

Described by her friends as the “Ice Queen”; Lucy’s acerbic humour and often cool demeanour speak to her sheltered and shy personality. But beneath her confident fa\u00e7ade Lucy is hiding a childhood trauma; and when she meets Stephen, she instantly sees a dark streak in him that she recognises in herself.<\/p>\n

Who has been cast in the series?<\/h3>\n

As we already know Van Patten has secured the coveted leading role in the series, but there is no word on who will star opposite her as Stephen; or any other news on other characters for that matter. Knowing that Emma Roberts is playing a part, I’m sure we can expect plenty of fresh, new talent on screen.<\/p>\n
