If you know us, you know we’re obsessed (bleep it) with Benito Skinner. From his podcast to his Instagram skits, we eat up everything the comedian puts into the universe. Naturally, news of his debut series, Overcompensating, was music to our ears, and we were quick to watch the first season in its entirety. But an Overcompensating-shaped hole has loomed large in our lives since the credits rolled on the final episode, and we’ve been dreaming of the day season two might finally get confirmed. Now, it’s finally been filled — with season two en route. Here’s what we know.

Yes, season two is happening

Skinner took to Instagram to share the news, finally putting an end to mounting speculation about the fate of the series.

“WE’RE OFFICIALLY GOING BACK 2 SCHOOL,” he wrote. “Thank you so much for all your insane love for this show. And thank you for being so patient while Daddy’s been cooking season 2.”

When will season two come out?

This much remains to be seen. The latest update comes courtesy of Kyle McLachlan, who starred in season one as Skinner’s dad. Speaking on the red carpet at the premiere of Fallout season 2, he said, “I know that Benny and the group are in the writers room, and I know they’re working away. But I am as curious as you are about what they have up their sleeve, so we’ll see. I mean, whatever it is, it’ll be great.”

We know season one (which is loosely based on Skinner’s own coming out story) took around five years to develop. We’re hopeful that the season two timeline might be a little shorter, but we’ll keep you updated when we know more.

A writers room has reportedly already been formed

Long before season two was made concrete, rumours were swirling that a writers room had already been formed. Film Updates reported that a writers room for the second season was “in progress” back in July, and Amazon had been “praising the show’s passionate fanbase and strong completion rates.” They were quick to temper this news by saying that show hadn’t been formally renewed, however the outlet also said that conversations were ongoing, and an outcome was expected imminently.

Benny teased a second season on TikTok

Skinner soft-launched the idea of a second season on TikTok, where he posted a video with friend and Overcompensating cast member Owen Thiele dancing, writing simply: “Benny in season 2…”

It goes without saying that the comment section went into overdrive, with users commenting, “Is this how you confirm season 2???” and, “This better be your way of announcing a season two.”

Season two could feature a cameo from Terry’s mum

If you’re a fan of Skinner, chances are you also love his ex-boyfriend, Terry O’Connor. O’Connor is a photographer and creative (credited with Charli xcx’s Brat rollout), and he (and his mum) are a frequent topic of conversation on Skinner’s social media. When we chatted with Skinner about the possibility of a cameo from Skinner’s mum, he shared: “We tried to get Terry’s mum in this, but she had a tee time…. She’s very busy right now.”

‘Tell Me Lies’ season three officially has a (very toxic) trailer https://www.russh.com/tell-me-lies-season-three/ Wed, 17 Dec 2025 19:15:39 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=238430 We live for the drama of this show.

If there’s one toxic relationship we wish could play out for eternity, it would be Lucy and Stephen’s in Tell Me Lies. Now, that wish has been granted — at least for another eight episodes, with the series renewed for a third season, which is very nearly on our screens.

For the first two series, we’ve become addicted to the drama of the duo — played by real-life couple Grace Van Patten and Jackson White — who go from university flames to one of the most catatonic relationships we’ve ever seen. Think things couldn’t get any worse? When it concerns Lucy and Stephen, they really can. As for where the pair will take us in season three, find all the important details, below.

When will Tell Me Lies season three come out?

It’s officially been revealed that the first two episodes of season three will hit our screens on January 13, 2026.

There’s a total of eight episodes on the season, with the season finale airing on February 24, 2026.

Eagle-eyed fans have been watching closely for updates on the third season since filming got underway, even taking to TikTok to share footage of Van Patten in action, with the actress spotted in a robe between takes, sporting some very heavy eye makeup.

Hulu also shared a picture of Van patten on set, along with the caption, “we are so back. Tell Me Lies S3 now in production.”

What is Tell Me Lies season three about?

Without giving too much away, season two ended on a pretty significant cliffhanger, so there are plenty of storylines to go on with in season three. The series is based on on the 2018 novel by the same name by Carola Lovering, so we’d hazard that the next episodes will continue to consult this storyline.

The official logline says season three “follows Lucy Albright (Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (White) as they’ve rekindled their tumultuous romance in time for spring semester at Baird College. While they promise things will be different this time, past indiscretions hinder their best intentions, and Lucy finds herself embroiled in a controversy she wants nothing to do with. Meanwhile, the disastrous repercussions from the previous year also force Lucy and Stephen’s friends to face their own destructive behaviours. As scandalous secrets fester around campus, vicious consequences threaten Lucy and everyone in her circle.”

Who is cast in Tell Me Lies season three?

It would be hard to continue the story without the original cast on board: Lucy, Stephen, Pippa, Bree, Diana, Wrigley, and Evan. There are also a few side characters we’d love to see return in season three. Namely, Oliver, Marianne, Lydia, and Leo.

And new to the cast in season three is Iris Apatow, who has been confirmed as a series regular. According to Deadline, Apatow will play the role of Amanda, a bubbly but fragile college freshman keeping a big secret. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Costa D’Angelo is also a new series regular, playing Alex, a psychology grad student and part-time drug dealer who has a complicated past with Bree.

What do we know about Tell Me Lies season three?

The drama-fuelled show was picked up for another series two months after season two aired. It was relatively expected, with the second season garnering a cult following, and staying in Hulu’s Top 15 shows for more than 50 consecutive days.

It looks like there could be potential for even more Tell Me Lies goodness, beyond season three, with executive producer and showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer also signing an overall deal with 20th TV, a part of Disney Television Studios. This will see her continue to helm Tell Me Lies, while also developing, writing and executive producing more original series. Yes please.

Emily in Paris is about to hit our screen once again, with season five’s return scheduled for 18 December 2025.

The show has already taken Emily everywhere from neighbourhood cafés and hidden gardens to dramatic Roman viewpoints and the sunniest corners of the French Riviera.

Below, we tracked down every real-life location she visits on screen, and along the way, we’re sharing insider tips, local context, and a few smart recommendations, so you can add these spots to your next European adventure with ease.

Everywhere Emily went in Paris

1. Le Jardin de Palais Royal

Location: 8 Rue de Montpensier, 75001 Paris, France

Emily and Mindy’s first meeting takes place in the Jardin du Palais Royal, a bustling but still quiet little park right in the heart of Paris, tucked behind the grand Palais Royal. With its neat rows of trees and elegant arcades, it feels worlds away from the busy streets nearby. In their first encounter, the moment is anything but graceful – Mindy is babysitting Laurent and Sybil when the kids accidentally knock bread straight out of Emily’s hands, setting the whole friendship in motion. The park shows up again in the episode Ringarde, when Mindy sings La Vie en Rose among the gardens.

2. Café de Flore

Location: 172 Boulevard Saint-Germain, 75006 Paris, France

One of Paris’s most iconic hangouts, Café de Flore, is set along Boulevard Saint-Germain at the edge of a lively Left Bank park. Open since the late 1800s, it’s one of the city’s oldest cafés and has long been a gathering place for writers, artists, and philosophers. In the episode Ringarde, Emily visits here with Thomas, who points out that Café de Flore became closely associated with Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. The funny part? At the time, the truly fashionable crowd was actually across the street at Les Deux Magots, where Hemingway and Picasso held court.

3. La Maison Rose

Location: 2 Rue de l’Abreuvoir, 75018 Paris, France

Emily and Mindy share a meal at La Maison Rose, the unmistakable pink restaurant tucked along Rue de l’Abreuvoir in Montmartre. Over dinner, the conversation turns serious – Sylvie’s frustration with Emily’s influencer side hustle, and the fact that this night marks the end of Emily’s time as a social media influencer before she deletes her account. The street pops up again later in the season, when Rue de l’Abreuvoir becomes the backdrop for the Hästens luxury bed campaign.

4. Pont Alexandre III

Location: Pont Alexandre III, 75008 Paris, France

Episode 3 places Emily on the Pont Alexandre III, the lavish Beaux-Arts span framed by Parisian icons: the Champs-Élysées rising in one direction and the gilded dome of Les Invalides gleaming in the other. The bridge has appeared on screen before, notably in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. That film also featured another setting later used in Emily, the Musée des Arts Forains – a whimsical fairground museum on the city’s south-eastern edge – which makes its appearance in Episode 7.

6. Pont Neuf

75001 Paris, France

Season 2 ends back in Paris, with Emily on the Pont Neuf, considering her next move from the city’s oldest bridge. We’d recommend visiting early morning or at sunset for fewer crowds, and exploring the charming Square du Vert-Galant (hidden garden) below.

7. Gallery Lafayette

Location: 40 Boulevard Haussmann, 75009 Paris France

Galeries Lafayette appears as one of Emily in Paris’s most recognisable settings. Its celebrated Art Nouveau dome features prominently, most notably during the Season 4 Cadence launch. Within the series, it’s presented as a place where Agence Grateau’s business unfolds. We’d recommend heading to the 7th-floor terrace for free, panoramic views of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower and Sacré-Cœur.

8. Atelier des Lumières

Location: 38 Rue Saint-Maur, 75011 Paris, France

L’Atelier des Lumières features in Emily in Paris as the immersive digital art venue visited by Emily, Gabriel and Camille in the episode Faux Amis. The former industrial space in Paris’s 11th arrondissement transforms classic artworks into large-scale, enveloping projections, and the characters experience its Van Gogh exhibition during their visit. Opened in 2018 by Culturespaces, the venue on rue Saint-Maur has become a landmark for contemporary digital exhibitions.

9. Palais Garnier

Location: Place de l’Opéra, 75009 Paris

Palais Garnier features in Emily in Paris as the iconic Paris opera house visited by Emily and Thomas in the episode Ringarde. The historic 1,979-seat venue is the setting for a planned evening of Swan Lake, but the visit takes a turn when Thomas dismisses the ballet. During the visit, Emily also spots Pierre watching from a balcony above and rushes up to speak with him.

10. Monet’s House

Location: 84 Rue Claude Monet, 27620 Giverny, France

Claude Monet’s gardens at Giverny feature in Emily in Paris as the historic artist’s home and museum visited by Emily in season four, episode two, Love Is on the Run. Located about an hour and a half outside Paris, the pink house and famous water lily pond are where Emily finds Camille after she disappears following her cancelled wedding. While wandering the gardens beneath Monet’s iconic Japanese bridge, Emily learns about the artist’s water lilies and accidentally falls into the pond during a confrontation with Camille. The museum is now open to the public, in case you wanted to add it to your itinerary.

Everywhere Emily went in the French Riviera

Season 2’s Do You Know the Way to St. Tropez? episode features Emily on a girls’ weekend in Saint-Tropez, which turns out to have been filmed mainly in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Villefranche-sur-Mer. Here’s where she went…

1. Villefranche-sur-Mer train station

Location: Av. Georges Clemenceau, 06230 Villefranche-sur-Mer, France

The pisode opens at the Villefranche-sur-Mer train station. Even the details give it away – a poster for Menton’s famous lemon festival hangs on the platform, a subtle nod to the Côte d’Azur. While she’s supposed to be in Saint-Tropez, Emily actually arrives in Villefranche-sur-Mer, about 120 kilometres further east. A small switch, maybe, but one that unmistakably places her in the heart of the French Riviera.

2. Route des Trois Corniches

Location: It isn’t a single address but three scenic roads (Grande, Moyenne, Basse Corniche) between Nice and Menton, France, each starting near Nice’s port/harbour district (like Riquier for Grande)

Emily’s Riviera weekend kicks off with views that make an instant impression. She’s traveling along the Moyenne-Corniche and the Grande-Corniche, the scenic roads that wind between Nice and Menton high above the Mediterranean. For miles, the route hugs the hills, with the sea stretching out below and classic Côte d’Azur scenery unfolding at every turn.

There’s a bit of movie history here, too. These roads—known collectively as the Trois Corniches—were famously used in Alfred Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief. Back in 1955, Grace Kelly and Cary Grant cruised along the very same curves in a convertible, cementing the Corniche as one of cinema’s most iconic drives.

3. Le Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat

Location: 71 Boulevard du Général de Gaulle, 06230 Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Côte d’Azur, France

For the weekend, Emily and her friends check into one of the French Riviera’s most iconic hotels, perched above the Mediterranean with views that feel almost unreal. The Four Seasons’ Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat is old-school glamour at its finest – everyone from Elizabeth Taylor to Winston Churchill has passed through its doors. The hotel’s appeal goes well beyond Emily in Paris, too. It’s apparently a front-runner for the next season of HBO’s The White Lotus Season 4.

1. Paloma Beach in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Location: 1 Route de Saint-Hospice, 06230 Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Paloma Beach has hosted its fair share of Hollywood stars over the years (Tom Cruise, Sean Connery, and Roger Moore have all dined here), but Emily Cooper’s champagne-soaked moment on the terrace of the legendary Paloma Beach restaurant is instantly memorable. Tucked away on the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula, the beach feels wonderfully untouched, with sweeping views toward the cliffs of Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Èze across the water.

2. Chapelle Saint-Pierre (Jean Cocteau Chapel)

Location: 4 Quai de l’Amiral Courbet, 06230 Villefranche-sur-Mer, France

Camille meets Emily at the Chapelle Saint-Pierre on Quai de l’Amiral Courbet. The chapel’s striking interior is revealed as Emily enters. Dedicated to Saint Peter, the patron saint of fishermen, this historic chapel was transformed into a masterpiece by the renowned French artist Jean Cocteau.

Everywhere Emily went in Rome

1. Hotel Eden

Location: Via Ludovisi, 49, 00187 Roma RM, Italy

Emily’s first stop in Rome is 5-star Hotel Eden, which anyone familiar with the city knows is one of its true icons. It’s been around since 1889 and sits just a short walk from the Spanish Steps, right in the heart of the elegant Via Veneto area. The hotel is famously inspired to Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, and it still has that classic Roman glamour. One of its standout features is La Terrazza, the rooftop with incredible city views, where Emily and Sylvie sit down for breakfast.

2. Harry’s Bar

Location: Via Vittorio Veneto, 150, 00187 Roma RM, Italy

When Sylvie meets Giancarlo in Rome, their scene is set at Harry’s Bar, a classic American-style bar that’s been part of the city’s social scene for decades. The commercial Giancarlo is filming weaves in some real Roman history, too – the actress is shown driving through Porta Pinciana, one of the best-preserved gates in the ancient Aurelian Walls. Those walls were built nearly 2,000 years ago under emperors Aurelian and Probus and once wrapped entirely around the city, protecting Rome at its peak.

3. The Acqua Paola Fountain

Location: Via Garibaldi, 00153 Roma RM, Italy

Marcello zips Emily through Rome on his scooter, weaving through the city until they end up at Janiculum Hill. It sits just above Trastevere and only a few minutes from the Tiber, and at the top you’ll find Il Fontanone, literally “the big fountain.” It’s a huge Baroque fountain built in the early 1600s, and the views from up there are unreal – you get the whole city laid out beneath you. It’s one of those classic Roman spots that always makes for great photos.

4. The Janiculum Hill

Location: Piazzale Giuseppe Garibaldi, 00165, Roma RM, Italy

If you keep walking past Il Fontanone, you’ll hit Piazza Garibaldi, which has one of the best panoramic terraces in the city. This is where Marcello brings Emily to catch the famous Gianicolo cannons, which fire every day at exactly noon just below the lookout – it’s a classic Roman tradition. Even though Janiculum isn’t technically one of Rome’s Seven Hills, it’s actually one of the city’s highest spots, so the views are incredible in every direction. On a clear day, you can even spot landmarks like the Pantheon and the Vittorio Emanuele monument way down below.

5. Teatro Marcello

Location: Via del Teatro di Marcello, 00186 Roma RM, Italy

It’s easy to confuse it with the Colosseum at first glance, but the Theatre of Marcellus is a completely different kind of ancient landmark. You’ll find it tucked into the Sant’Angelo neighbourhood, right between the Jewish Ghetto and the Tiber. Back in the day, it could hold around 20,000 spectators, though now only the lower levels remain purely ancient – the upper floors were built over and are still used as apartments. After a night of rooftop drinks and city views, Emily and Marcello end the evening here.

6. Da Giggetto Al Portico D’Ottavia

Location: Via del Portico d`Ottavia, 21/a, 00186 Roma RM, Italy

Marcello brings Emily to Da Giggetto, the kind of place Romans have been going to forever. It’s tucked into the Jewish Ghetto, right near the Portico of Octavia, where ancient columns still line the street. Da Giggetto has been around since the 1920s, and it shows – in the best way. It’s a longtime local favourite, and if you’re eating here, there’s really only one thing you have to order: carciofi alla giudia. Those crispy, golden Jewish-style artichokes are a Roman classic.

7. The Trevi Fountain

Location: Piazza di Trevi, 00187 Roma RM, Italy

What Roman holiday isn’t complete without throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain? It’s one of those classic Roman rituals everyone ends up doing. Standing there, Marcello explains the rules to Emily: use your right hand and toss the coin over your left shoulder. Emily sticks with just one coin – enough to make sure she’ll be back in Rome someday – skipping the full three, which legend says lock in love and marriage in the Eternal City.

8. The Colosseum

Location: Piazza del Colosseo, 1, 00184 Roma RM, Italy

Ah, another classic. The Colosseum. It’s the kind of place that’s beauty and history stops you mid-thought, especially when the afternoon light hits and the stone seems to glow. As they ride by on the Vespa, Marcello nudges Emily to put her phone away and just take it all in.

9. Spanish Steps

Location: Piazza di Spagna, 00187 Roma RM, Italy

Emily and Marcello wander over to the Spanish Steps, the wide staircase that climbs from Piazza di Spagna up to the church of Trinità dei Monti. It’s been part of the city since the 1700s, and today it sits right in the middle of Rome’s high-fashion zone. Via Condotti starts at the base of the steps, lined with designer storefronts – Gucci, Prada, Valentino… of course our duo pause for a moment on the steps to catch their breath. (What they don’t realise is that this little break is technically illegal – since 2019, sitting here can earn you a hefty fine, sometimes as much as €400).

10. Trattoria Angelino

Location: Piazza Margana, 37, 00186 Roma RM, Italy

Emily finally slows down with an Aperol Spritz (classic) at Trattoria Angelino, a long-standing Roman spot tucked into Piazza Margana (whose origins date back to the Middle Ages), just a short walk from the Forum and the Colosseum. This place leans hard into classic Roman comfort food – think cacio e pepe, carbonara, all the staples done right. While she’s settling in, Sylvie calls, and Emily drops the truth: she’s not in Krakow after all. She’s in Rome… exactly where Sylvie figured she’d be.

11. Piazza Mattei and the Turtle Fountain

Location: Piazza Mattei, 00186 Roma RM, Italy

Gelatos in hand, Mindy and Emily wander along Via della Reginella, talking through Mindy’s breakup with Nico as they cut through the Jewish Quarter. The walk drops them into Piazza Mattei, one of those small Roman squares you’d probably miss if you didn’t know to look for it. Rome has thousands of piazzas, but this one stands out thanks to the Fontana delle Tartarughe (“Fountain of the Turtles”), a 16th-century fountain with bronze turtles perched along the edge. It’s here that Mindy starts singing Beautiful Ruins and slowly pulls a crowd.

12. Borgo of Ostia Antica

Location: Piazza della Rocca, 13, 00119 Roma RM, Italy

For the Season 4 finale, Emily leaves the city behind and heads to Marcello’s hometown, Solitano. The town itself is fictional, but the filming location is very real: Ostia Antica. Getting there from central Rome is surprisingly easy: hop on Metro Line B to Piramide, then transfer to the Roma-Lido commuter train, and you’ll be there in about half an hour.

This small borgo sits beside the ruins of ancient Ostia, with cobblestone streets, ivy-covered stone walls, and quiet piazzas that haven’t changed much over the centuries. The village revolves around the Castle of Julius II, a 15th-century fortress built to protect the mouth of the Tiber. Fans will recognise the stone archway Emily walks through, which doubles as Solitano’s entrance on screen. She meets Marcello’s mother, Antonia, at the fictional Café du Ugo, filmed in Piazza della Rocca, while the village meal scene was shot just below the castle.

13. Pincio Terrace

Location: Viale del Belvedere, 00197 Roma RM, Italy

The season wraps up at the Pincio Terrace. It sits just outside Villa Borghese and looks straight out over the city, with rooftops, domes, and monuments stretching to the horizon. It’s especially beautiful at sunset, when everything below starts to glow—and it’s easy to see why they chose this spot for the show’s final moments.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the past two years of film and television, it’s that audiences are doubling down to watch a steamy romance. Whether it was Luca Guadagnino’s tennis thruple in Challengers or Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson’s power play in A24’s Babygirl – nothing is off limits for exploration in film or television.

And so it only makes sense that HBO’s latest hit is Heated Rivalry a competitors-to-lovers drama about two championship ice hockey players whose rivalry on the rink segues into a intense romance in secret – navigating fame and homophobia – would be the next hit on our hands. But if you’ve already zoomed through all six episodes of Season 1 (and can’t simply wait with bated breath for the newly announced season two), then we’ve got you covered with 12 TV shows to watch in the meantime to fill the void of steamy, sporty, queer romances.

1. Olympo

Where to stream: Netflix

Set at an elite Olympic training center, Olympo follows hyper-disciplined young athletes whose lives revolve around winning at any cost. As rivalries intensify, so do secret relationships, exposing just how thin the line is between obsession, desire, and self-destruction.

2. Sex/Life

Where to stream: Netflix

Sarah Shahi stars as Billie, a suburban wife and mother who can’t stop fantasising about her wildly intoxicating ex, Brad. The show thrives on the tension between the life she chose and the desire she can’t outrun – and it’s unapologetically steamy about it.

3. My Stubborn

Where to stream: iQIYI

This slow-burn romance follows a guarded, emotionally rigid lead whose carefully controlled world is disrupted by someone who refuses to give up on him. What starts as friction slowly turns into intimacy, with plenty of yearning looks and reluctant confessions along the way.

4. Spinning Out

Where to stream: Netflix

Kaya Scodelario plays Kat, a gifted figure skater whose Olympic dreams are complicated by bipolar disorder and a dangerous on-ice partnership. Between the pressure from her ruthless mother and a messy romance with fellow skater Justin, everything threatens to spiral off balance.

5. Love, Victor

Where to stream: Disney+

Victor arrives at Creekwood High hoping for a fresh start, but quickly realises figuring out who you are is anything but simple. It’s a pretty classic coming-of-age story that explores themes of sexuality and acceptance within a Latinx family.

6. Young Royals

Where to stream: Netflix

When Prince Wilhelm is sent to Hillerska boarding school, he never expects to fall for Simon, a scholarship student with no interest in royal rules. Their romance is intimate and intense, made even more painful by secrets, public scrutiny, and impossible expectations.

7. Red, White & Royal Blue

Where to stream: Amazon Prime Video

What begins as a PR-mandated truce between Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry quickly turns into flirtation – and then full-blown smutty secret romance. The stakes rise as their relationship threatens to upend both international politics and their own carefully crafted public images.

8. Heartstopper

Where to stream: Netflix

Kit Connor’s career was off to a rocketing start at the helm of this ongoing Netflix series. Charlie and Nick’s story starts with a simple classroom seating plan and slowly grows into something life-changing. It’s all about stolen glances, and the realisation that love doesn’t always have to hurt to be powerful.

9. Queer as Folk (US version)

Where to stream: Paramount+

Set in New Orleans, the series follows a tight-knit group of queer friends whose lives are shaken after a traumatic event at a nightclub. Love, sex, and community become acts of survival as the characters navigate grief and desire.

10. The L Word

Where to stream: Stan

This iconic series tracks the messy, intertwined lives of Bette, Tina, Shane, Alice, and their wider circle in Los Angeles. Equal parts glamorous and chaotic, it’s about love affairs, breakups, and the drama that comes with keeping everything in the family.

11. All American

Where to stream: Stan

Spencer James is a rising football star pulled between his South Central roots and a wealthy Beverly Hills team. Alongside the sports drama, his relationships – especially with Olivia – explore identity, ambition, and what it costs to chase greatness.

12. Friday Night Lights

Where to stream: BINGE and Foxtel Now

A classic for a reason. At its heart, this is as much about relationships as it is about football, especially the marriage between Coach Eric Taylor and Tami. Against the backdrop of Friday night footy games, we get a look into some pretty complex lives, relationships and issues like class and race.

The post Helena Bonham Carter might be en route to France for ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
Being cast in one of Mike White’s seasons of The White Lotus has become the peak of an actor’s career in the 2020s. We already have three seasons of madness and mystery and murder behind us, but a fourth season set in the French Riviera is officially on the cards.

White is notorious for finding a brand new cast for each season – often pulling some left-of-field casting announcements out of the bag: a few up-and-comers, a few nostalgic faves, the occasional big Hollywood name. But what about season four?

Well, it looks like the latter category might be covered, with icon Helena Bonham Carter the first name in the mix to be booking a ticket to France. While there’s nothing officially confirmed, we can totally picture the actress fitting into White’s glorious mix of unhinged characters.

While we wait for an official cast announcement (likely to head our way in early 2026), we decided to do our own digging to put together a dream cast of actors we think should be packing their bags for The White Lotus Season 4 next year.

1. Helena Bonham Carter

A post shared by Helena Bonham Carter (@bonham.carter)

Did someone say iconic? We have to admit, Bonham Carter wasn’t the first name to come to mind when dreaming up this cast list, but now that she’s in the mix, we can’t think of a better person to wreak havoc on France.

Sources say early casting conversations are underway and, if scucessful, it would see Bonham Carter grow her already impeccable television CV, from Princess Margaret in The Crown, to Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials Netflix mystery series.

2. Laura Dern

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Laura Dern (@lauradern)

Technically, Dern has already had a voice cameo in season two as Abby Di Grasso, the estranged wife on the phone with Dominic Di Grasso (played by Michael Imperioli) – the voice, Dern says, she “recorded from her closet”. It would be no huge stretch of the imagination then to see an already sidelined character make an appearance (as we know, White loves to draw connections with his casts across seasons).

Dern was also spotted meeting for coffee with The White Lotus show-runner (and longtime friend) Mike White in Los Angeles earlier this year, causing the internet to increase its speculating.

3. Jon Gries (Greg)

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Jon Gries (@jongries)

The White Lotus’ only recurring guest across all three seasons is the nefarious Gregg (played by Jon Gries). We think it highly unlikely that his character will suddenly disappear from the plot for Season 4. And hopefully, we’ll see Tanya get a little justice soon.

4. Charlotte LeBon (Chloe)

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Charlotte Le Bon (@lebonlebon)

A fan favourite from Season 3, and a frontrunner we think for a return in Season 4 – we usually get a past season character (other than Greg) on a new adventure, and we’d love to see more of Chloe (and her Jacquemus outfits) in the French Riviera.

5. Will Poulter

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Side Hustle (@sidehustlelondon)

Poulter’s already been making waves for his recurring cameos in The Bear and it’s been a minute since he’s had free range to use the full extent of his comedic abilities (fans of School of Comedy will be familiar). We could very well see him heading to France.

6. Christine Baranski

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Christine Baranski (@christinebaranskii_)

Mike White loves to cast actors we love from the 90s and 2000s who’ve been laying low for a while (à la Coolidge and Posey) – and who is more iconic than the Christine Baranski? While she hasn’t exactly been laying low of late (you’ll catch her in The Gilded Age and The Good Fight), we think she’s got that nostalgic edge that could set her up for a season in France.

7. Jeff Probst

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by JEFF PROBST (@jeffprobst)

What could be more iconic than a White Lotus cameo from Survivor host Jeff Probst? White famously went on two seasons of the reality TV show – and the two are purportedly friends. We could see him as the hotel’s excursion staffer, taking them for off-road drives and day-long hikes redolent of his reality roots.

8. Chloë Sevigny

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Chloë Sevigny (@chloessevigny)

The ultimate cool-girl? For a season set in France? We think yes.

9. Parker Posey

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Hyundai Motor America (@hyundaiusa)

Earlier this year, White told The Hollywood Reporter he would be interested in an all-star White Lotus season, saying: “It would be easy to just be full-on anthology, but I think it’s more fun to have little threads through the show,” he said in 2023. “If the show goes on for a couple of seasons, it would be fun to have an all-star season.” If Season 4 is it, we’d obviously need to see Parker Posey return as Victoria Ratliff.

10. Daniel Kaluuya

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Kaluuya (@danielkaluuya)

Another actor we haven’t seen too much from of late, but who we think would make a perfect casting for The White Lotus. If you know Kaluuya, you know he’s got a penchant for some pretty tense contnet – from Jordan Peele horror flicks to Black Mirror to winning an Oscar for Judas and the Black Messiah. We think it’s time for him to sink into a pool lounger.

11. Rachel Sennott

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Rachel Anne Sennott (@treaclychild)

To be honest, there’s no one that we want to see on the show more. But we can also recognise that Sennott is currently busy helming her own brand-new show, I Love LA at the moment, so this might not be super realistic. However, we wouldn’t put it past Sennott to find the time for a season in the Riviera.

12. Michelle Yeoh

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Michelle Yeoh 楊紫瓊 (@michelleyeoh_official)

What’s a trip to a five-star French hotel without a staggeringly rich and sophisticated matriarch to top it all off? We think Yeoh is the perfect fit for the role – a nod perhaps to her role in Crazy Rich Asians?

13. Dacre Montgomery

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Dacre Montgomery (@dacremontgomery)

We know for a fact that the Aussie Stranger Things actor can play the ultimate douchebag, but can he do it twice? We’d like to know.

14. Heather Graham

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Heather Graham (@imheathergraham)

Graham gives big rich holiday energy if you ask us, and we haven’t seen her grace our screens in a hot minute. She’s got that nostalgic energy that White’s casting is known for – and can fill the blonde bombshell role with ease.

15. Cole Escola

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Check The Tag (@checkthetag)

Cole is unreasonably funny and fresh from their Broadway (and Tony-winning) show Oh! Mary. We can definitely see a world where Escola heads to the Riviera for a season of The White Lotus.

16. Amandla Stenberg

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Amandla Stenberg (@_amandla_stenberg_)

Each season has had a woke (but not really) young woman whose ideals are slowly corrupted by the allure of money. Whether it was a feminist Rachel Patton in Season 1, the deludedly altruistic Portia in Season 2, or the wannabe-Buddist Piper Ratliff in Season 3, we think Amandla would perfectly pull off the vibe in Season 4.

The teaser for ‘Euphoria’ season three is as chaotic as we’d hoped https://www.russh.com/euphoria-season-three/ Sun, 14 Dec 2025 20:44:33 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=152360 We suppose it's time to rewatch seasons one and two...

If it feels like forever ago that we sat down for that absolutely wild final episode of Euphoria’s second season, that’s because it was.

Season two aired in January 2022, and featured some admittedly thrilling plot points like character deaths, Lexi’s play and that Maddie vs. Cassie showdown. From cast schedule conflicts, departing cast members, the death of Angus Cloud, and delayed production, every odd seemed against us ever actually laying eyes on Euphoria season three. That is, until now. In fact, we finally have not only a release schedule, but a teaser trailer, too.

Here’s what you need to know…

When will it be released?

Euphoria‘s long-awaited third season will return to screens in April 2026. There’s no exact date yet, but we can only imagine that will come soon.

Jacob Elordi said filming was “all quite separate”

That is, according to Jacob Elordi at least. The actor told Variety that moments that the entire cast have been reunited on set to film season three have been few and far between.

“I was pretty busy. But I will say it’s really nice to be back. It’s been eight years or something since I started. It’s just lovely to see all these people that you’ve grown up with. It’s the same crew, the same cast,” he began. But in terms of the actual story line, it appears Elordi is just as much in the dark as us. “I don’t really know what anyone else is doing. It’s all quite separate,” he said.

Our first glimpse at Euphoria season 3 soundtrack

Not only is Labrinth (who produced Euphoria‘s season one and two soundtracks) coming back for season three, but he’s joined by Oscar winning composer and producer Hans Zimmer. In other words, expect a soundtrack that’s unlike anything we’ve heard before.

If you’re unfamiliar with Zimmer’s name, chances are you know his sound. He’s responsible for composing some of cinemas most well known scores in The Lion King, Dune, and Interstellar. In a statement released by HBO, Zimmer said ” It’s an honour to join this incredible team of storytellers led by the visionary Sam Levinson”. He added that he is “looking forward to contributing to the ongoing story and helping shape this new season through music”.

We always knew Maddy would continue to hone her impeccable style, but these photos have exceeded our wildest expectations. Spotted filming a scene with co-star Zendaya, the actress sported an orange set from the Jean Paul Gaultier FW96 archives.

HBO has also recently dropped the first official photo of Euphoria season three. The picture in question, which was shared to the streamer’s Instagram, shows Zendaya reprising her role as Rue.

Who is cast in season 3 of Euphoria?

As for the cast of season three, it just keeps growing, with the latest update that the one and only Sharon Stone will be joining the cast.

Stone isn’t the only new cast member: she’s joined by Grammy-winning singer, Rosalía former NFL player Marshawn Lynch, and actor Kadeem Hardison.

In a statement about the new role, Stone said: “There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent. From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honoured to be Euphoric.” If you cast your minds back to S1, you might remember that Maddy Perez idolises Stone’s character in Casino – and Nate even buys her a fur jacket so she can match her. We’re wondering if Stone’s addition to the casting for S3 means that Perez might get a chance to meet her cinematic idol. Or perhaps Stone won’t be playing herself, but it all just seems a little tongue-in-cheek right? Like in Love, Actually when Liam Neeson’s character is in love with Claudia Schiffer, but Schiffer herself plays a fellow school mom he forms a budding romance with. We’ll just have to wait and see…

It’s not clear yet what roles the new cast members will have, but we’ll certainly be tuned in to find out. The ensemble cast will also grow to include Darrell Britt-Gibson (She Taught Love), Priscilla Delgado (Julieta); James Landry Hébert (1883); and Anna Van Patten (Gossip Girl), who each have notable guest star roles, plus Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Suicide Squad) and Toby Wallace (Babyteeth) as series regulars.

Since Euphoria first aired in 2019, its stars have gone on to build successful careers in Hollywood. Save for the fact that Ferreira, Walton and Cloud’s characters will not be returning, it’s safe to assume many of the current ensemble cast will return for the next season – including Hunter SchaferAlexa Demie, and Dominic Fike.

Jacob Elordi , on the other hand, is shaping up to have a reduced role in the upcoming season, as the result of his busy acting schedule. The Australian actor has starred in Saltburn, Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, The Sweet East, On Swift Horses and Oh Canada, and is set to lead The Narrow Road to the Deep North, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, and multiple more.

Meanwhile, despite having a mammoth year with Dune Part 2 and Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers, Zendaya has confirmed to return, as has Sydney Sweeney, who has been everywhere recently, from romcom Anyone But You to Marvel’s Madame Web and even Barbarella.

What will season 3 of Euphoria be about?

It’s been confirmed that season three of Euphoria will feature a jump forward in time, from high school to adulthood. Speaking on Entertainment Weekly‘s The Awards podcast, Zendaya said, “It’s important because there’s only so much high school drama you can deal with.”

“I don’t actually know much about what is happening,” she said. “I don’t quite know exactly what the season is going to look like, but I do know that the time jump is happening.”

“It will be fascinating to see and understand these characters outside of the context of high school and how all the stuff that we saw when they were kids and they were in high school affects the adulthood they have and who they become in a much bigger world. I’ll be interested to see what happens too.”

As for specific plot details, reports suggest that we’ll see Cassie and Nate engaged and living in the suburbs – with Cassie possibly dabbling in OnlyFans. Rue will be in Mexico, dealing with her debt to Laurie. Elsewhere, Maddy is pursuing a new career path in Hollywood, Jules is attending art school, and Lexi works in TV production

Keen fans have also spotted that the show’s IMDb listing indicates that the third season was filmed in multiple countries, including Singapore, Italy, England, and Ireland in addition to the USA.

Irrespective of which of the above rumours are true, we’re expecting Levison and co to take some really big swings.

Where can I watch Euphoria in Australia?

The first two seasons of Euphoria are currently available to stream in Australia via HBO Max and AppleTV+.

Feel-good TV shows that will pull you out of any slump https://www.russh.com/best-feel-good-tv-shows/ Sat, 13 Dec 2025 03:00:11 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=134548 We all need a good laugh.

There are countless scenarios in life that lead us to the point of needing to zone out in front of a belly-achingly funny TV show. Sinking our teeth into the humour or someone else’s troubles can offer much-needed reprieve from our own realities. Which is why we’re rounding up the best feel good TV shows for your next bout of the blues, below.

Fleabag

Fleabag. Image: IMDb

Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s masterpiece Fleabag checks all of the boxes. A POV into the life of a discombobulated (albeit) hilarious woman, “Fleabag”, who is navigating life after the death of her best friend. There’s bravado, there’s grief, there’s hot priests, and there is cracking humour.

Broad City

Broad City. Image: IMDb

The show we know and love, the show we all wish was a real-life recollection of life in NYC with our best friends. A tribute to what life was like when you could sit on the floor of the subway eating noodles and carrying street-side couches across the city without catching COVID, Broad City follows the messy, lo-fi lives of Abbi and Ilana as they wade through the reality of life, love, and friendship.

Chewing Gum

Chewing Gum. Image: IMDb

Michaela Coel’s debut TV show is often missed in the spotlight of I May Destroy You, but if you’re a fan of her work, you’ll be a fan of Chewing Gum. Tracey, a repressed 20-something resident of a London housing project, is determined to lose her virginity, and will practically stop at nothing to get the job done. Laden with completely bonkers happenings and humour that will have you staring wide-eyed at your screen, Chewing Gum is truly transportive.

Schitts Creek

Schitt’s Creek. Image: IMDb

Endless laughs, endless praise. When the affluent Rose family suddenly and unexpectedly go bankrupt, they are forced to navigate a new life from adjoining rooms in a motel in Schitts Creek – a town that Johnny Rose bought as a joke many years ago. What ensues is priceless comedy.

Feel Good

Feel Good. Image: IMDb

Apt for the title of this story, Mae Martin’s stunning television debut is a semi-autobiographical series that follows comedian, Mae, as they navigate a new relationship with the previously straight George, while wrestling with past addiction. Tender, hilarious, and glaringly relatable for many LGBTQI+ folks, Feel Good deals with themes of identity, love, reconciliation and healing.

Pen15

PEN15. Image: IMDb

The most cringe comedy of all. Two 31-year-olds play themselves in middle school as it really happened. 31-year-olds acting in the bodies of 13-year-olds, surrounded by a cast of 13-year-old’s was always going to make for interesting television, and Pen15 couldn’t have executed it better.

Arrested Development

Arrested Development. Image: IMDb

The original Schitts Creek. When the Bluth family empire is soiled by George Bluth’s fraudulent handling of the family fortune, Michael Bluth has to step in to prop the family up, while the rest of them attempt to get on with a downsized life in a model home. Classic, comedic, and chaotic.

Sex Education

Otis, an insecure teenager whose mother (to his embarrassment) is a sex-therapist (and also Gillian Anderson), is just trying to make it through high school when he finds he has a unique gift passed down from his mother’s profession. Funny, sweet and completely irreverent, Sex Education perfectly captures the absolute awkwardness that teenage life is while championing dialogue around high-school sex and the lack of education we face.

Crashing

Crashing. Image: IMDb

Phoebe Waller-Bridges directorial debut, and the strangest of shows. Following the lives of six characters in their 20s, a group of young adults become housemates as they squat in a disused hospital based in the city, for not much more than £25 a week. A coming-of-age of sorts, alongside a tale of love and work in a big city as well as, obviously, dealing with the quirks of living in a derelict hospital with strangers.

Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls. Image: IMDb

Gilmore Girls has made its way into cult classics – and stayed there – for good reason. Inseparable mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory love (and fight) like sisters. The duo’s playground is Stars Hollow, Connecticut, the quaint and charming town of our pumpkin-spiced latte dreams. The American comedy-drama TV series is fitting for any mood, and we will stand by that declaration.

Nobody Wants This

Nobody Wants This. Image: IMDb

This one follows the flame of an agnostic sex podcaster and a newly single rabbi. A match made in heaven. The two navigate newfound hurdles of fostering a relationship despite their vast differences. Messy and complicated, this romcom is a fan favourite in the RUSSH office.

Sex and the City

Sex and the City. Image: IMDb

Naturally, we couldn’t do a round-up of favourites without including the dogma – also known as SATC. I rewatch this final boss of a feel-good show annually. We are certain you already know the synopsis and can recite bar for bar. Although if you’re new here, allow us. With a backdrop of NYC, the six seasons span from 1998-2004 and follow Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda across every area of their life: dating, shopping, and gossiping. This show is the dream of every nostalgic-ridden writer.

The Office

The Office. Image: IMDb

A mockumentary masterpiece, this show is on a loop at home for me. It is one of those low-effort shows you can jump in and out of whenever you please, with a laugh guaranteed. No overthinking required. Set in the most desolate paper supply office in the stagnant town of Scranton, the office is orchestrated by the most delusional boss of all time, Michael Scott, with whom you develop a love-hate whiplash relationship.

I Love LA

I Love LA. Image: IMDb

Set in Hollywood with a stacked cast (think Quen Blackwell, Josh Hutcherson and Jordan Firstman), the show is led by and stars Rachel Senott, which aired at the backend of this year. The plot follows a group of aspirational individuals in their 20s who are struggling to navigate their careers, toxic dating scenes and the uncertainty of their twenties. Sound familiar? Join the club.

Grace and Frankie

Grace and Frankie. Image: IMDb

Two arch enemies, Grace and Frankie, drop their walls when they find out that their husbands are having an affair. Grace is a retired cosmetics magnate, and Frankie is an eccentric art teacher; although the two couldn’t be more different, it is their dissimilarities that bring them closer. What follows is the most hilarious series of events paired with a fresh, unlikely friendship, providing the utterly sweet realisation that there’s no deadline on welcoming new friendships into our lives.

Overcompensating

Overcompensating. Image: IMDb

This semi-autobiographical comedy-drama series follows Benny, who ticks all of the boxes of an American high school jock: former football player, valedictorian and homecoming king. Navigating his sexuality, Benny finds himself overcompensating to keep up the machismo act to try and justify himself to the bros. In the process, he befriends a sweethearted, shy girl who goes by the name of Carmen. Created by Benito Skinner (who doubles down by taking on the role of Benny), this one explores themes of selfhood, identity and coming of age, which is underscored by a prominent rebuttal of toxic masculinity.

Still obsessed with ‘Maxton Hall’? Here’s what to watch next https://www.russh.com/shows-like-maxton-hall/ Wed, 10 Dec 2025 03:00:58 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=274087 From addictive love triangles and elite school drama.

The post Still obsessed with ‘Maxton Hall’? Here’s what to watch next appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
One thing about the RUSSH team? We love a teen drama. But ever since The Summer I Turned Pretty Ended, we’ve been left with a fairly gaping hole in our watch lists, as far as the teen genre goes. That is, until Maxton Hall came along. Set inside the polished, high-pressure world of an elite school, it blends slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance with class tension, ambition and secrets. In other words, it’s incredibly easy to binge.

If you finished season two in one sitting and and have been left twiddling your thumbs waiting for more of Ruby and James in season three, we’ve got just the solution. Below, more shows that hit the same notes of intense romances and high-status worlds. Keep scrolling for six shows like Maxton Hall we think you’ll love.

The Summer I Turned Pretty

Well, obviously. It doesn’t take place in a school, but it’s rife with similar romance and miscommunication. If you’ve somehow missed all three seasons, TSITP follows Belly as she returns to her family’s summer house each year and finds herself caught between two brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah. Like Maxton Hall, it’s driven by slow-burn feelings, emotional distance and the kind of romantic tension that builds through very intense glances and silences.

Where to watch: Prime Video

Gossip Girl

Another classic. Gossip Girl (the original) should basically be required watching if you love Maxton Hall. Set inside an exclusive private school in Manhattan, it follows a tightly knit group of wealthy teenagers whose lives are controlled by status, reputation, secrets and, you guessed it, Gossip Girl.

Where to watch: Netflix

Elite

For another international watch, look no further. Elite is a Spanish drama that follows three working-class students who are granted scholarships to attend Las Encinas, one of Spain’s most prestigious private schools. Naturally, plenty of clashes between new and established students, as well as lots of romance, follows.

Where to watch: Netflix

Normal People

Less scandalous, but certainly still worthy of a mention. Normal People focuses on the emotional tension between two people who never quite get their timing right, following Marianne and Connell from secondary school through to university as they drift in and out of each other’s lives. Fans of Maxton Hall’s push-pull romance will love this one.

Where to watch: Stan

Rivals

Based on the novel by Jilly Cooper, Rivals sits firmly in the world of adult power and privilege, rather than schools — but there are similarities. The series follows wealthy, ambitious figures in 1980s British television, whose personal and professional lives become fairly chaotic thanks to power struggles and romantic entanglements. Affair-driven storylines, social warfare and reputation management mirror the addictive high-stakes of Maxton Hall.

Where to watch: Disney +

Vampire Diaries

If you like something a little darker, The Vampire Diaries leans into that energy through supernatural stakes. The story follows Elena Gilbert, an orphaned teenage girl who becomes entangled with two vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon. A love triangle ensues across eight seasons, echoing the emotional intensity that we see between Ruby and James.

Where to watch: HBO Max

Our favourite TV show Rivals just got better, with news that the series has been renewed for a second season. The raunchy 80s comedy-drama captured our hearts late this year, as we binged our way through every episode, and all the sex, drama, and scandals in between.

So where will season two take us? Everything we know so far, below.

What is season 2 about?

Those who have made their way through season one will know that the last episode left on a very gruesome cliffhanger. Tensions were well and truly at boiling point between Rupert Campbell-Black, Declan O’Hara, Lord Badidngton, and Cameron Cook, as they fought for control of the main television network in the Cotswalds area. Hopefully, in season two, we’ll see a winner to this hard-fought battle.

Of course, the series borrows its plot from Jilly Cooper’s novel by the same name, which was first published back in the ’80s. It’s not yet known if the new season will follow on from one of Cooper’s sequels, or if an original storyline will be written.

Cooper, who is also an executive producer on the series, said, “Nearly 40 years after my novel Rivals was published, I’ve adored seeing the world fall in love with my beloved characters – Rutshire’s finest.

“It has been a fairytale come true working with Happy Prince and Disney+ on the first season. I’m orgasmic with excitement and cannot wait for the return of my superhero Rupert Campbell-Black and the rest of the characters in season two.”

Who’s in the cast?

There’s no word yet on an official cast list, but it looks likely that most of the series one actors will return, including Alex Hassell, who plays our favourite anti-hero Rupert Campbell-Black. We’re also crossing our fingers that Bella Maclean, who plays Taggie, will also return, so she and Rupert can finally make their romance happen.

When will it premiere?

There’s no official release date, but with season two only just confirmed, our guess is that the new episodes will hit our screens in late 2025, or early 2026.
