The Black Friday of Australia, Boxing Day sales have always been one of the most coveted shopping events in the calendar for those of us on this large island.

This year’s Boxing Day sales naturally include some of the biggest names in Australia retail. But also, this year, there are a few new names on the list – the cult brands, the luxury brands and the local brands that we know and love. To help you find the sales at the stores and brands you actually want to know about, we’re wrapping up our best deals and discounts at the Boxing Day sales. Curated by our team of editors, we’ve created a list of the Boxing Day sales you can shop online.

Although Black Friday is growing in popularity and prevalence in Australia, Boxing Day – which, is celebrated the day after Christmas on 26 December – is our most celebrated sale event. A time where brands and stores would clear out excess Christmas stock to make way for the pieces and collections coming in the new year. And after all the rush of Christmas and showering your nearest and dearest with gifts, treating yourself (while perhaps not financially wise, depending on how much you’ve spent on loved ones) is only natural! We always recommend shopping to find forever pieces, or items you don’t normally find on sale, instead of participating in over consumption of poorly made items, but the choice is yours!

If you’re looking to take a more targeted approach to your sales shopping, you’ll be happy to know that we have dedicated guides to our favourite sales. Fashion shoppers will want to take a look at our round-up of the best Boxing Day fashion sales. For home and decor, we have a list of the RUSSH-approved best homewares Boxing Day sales. We also have a guide to the best deals in beauty this Boxing Day which includes some of the most covetable names in skincare and wellness.

The New Year’s Eve outfits the ‘RUSSH’ editors are coveting this year https://www.russh.com/new-years-eve-outfits/ Tue, 16 Dec 2025 07:30:13 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=148218 We are rounding up the New Year's Eve outfits we've been eyeing off for our end-of-year celebrations. May the next feel less scary!

Naturally, we’re in the midst of discussing the outfits we’re wearing on New Year’s Eve as though this is a friendly group chat.

Of course, your outfit depends on your plans. Are you committed to roughing it at a festival or have you scheduled a laid back afternoon with your closest pals? Is quiet drinks on a rooftop your thing? Or maybe you plan to purge the past year by sweating it out on the dance floor. In any case, if you’re in need of inspiration around what to wear on New Year’s Eve, below the RUSSH editors share the outfits they’re planning to wear while ringing in the New Year.

Cassandra Dimitroff

Features and Production Editor

NYE is the one time of year I swap out my basics for something FUN. I’ve yet to pick an exact outfit, but I’m eyeing off this Fronce Ruched Top from Dyspnea (how fun with a cute pair of jeans?),Wynn Hamlyn’s Pansy Button Mini Dress – a chic alternative to traditional NYE sparkles that still have a bold texture and shine.

My heart has also been won over by Hand Over’s sheer sequin Leandro skirts (I will also be reusing for Mardi Gras in Feb). Alternatively, Mode Mischief’s Lum.

Elyssa Kostopoulos

Content Director & Watch Editor

I shamefully don’t have New Year’s Eve plans yet, which means that my outfit options are well and truly open. And while I don’t have a destination, I do have plenty of possible looks. Starting off strong, I found this new, gorgeous silk set from Christopher Esber, and it’s screaming party to me. I adore the lattice detail on the back of the top, and the draping in the skirt is a dream for dancing. To accessorise, I would pair the look with a fun flat, like these gorgeous Tom Ford satin mules, and in a dream world, this iconic CHANEL evening bag from 2014-2015. Try and tell me this isn’t the perfect outfit.

And while I hope I find plans worthy of such an outfit, the reality is that more than likely, I’ll be sitting by the pool surrounded by my favourite people watching the sun go down. Thankfully, I am prepared for that too. In that case, you will probably find me in something easy like this playful Faithfull Mini Dress, paired with the most comfortable Tkees sandals and these gorgeous Dinosaur Design resin earrings that I can wear comfortably until we enter the new year.

Stacey Gaskin

Consumer Revenue Manager

I’m excited for some (you guessed it) sparkle. I like to get dressed up for New Years, even if I don’t have a massive night planned.

I’d love to wear this Everly High Neck Cowl Mini Dress – chestnut, styled similar to the campaign imagery, with the La Lune Bias Cut Pant – espresso. I also love the low neckline on the Averio Dress from CAMILLA AND MARC.Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Luxury palette is a must, along with some Arms Of Eve jewellery. This Olivia Gold Cuff Bracelet and the Dragon Gold Chain Bracelet are in my cart. For a day-to-night NYE party, FAITHFULL’s Ale Midi Dress in Olive is a fabulous choice. Styled with these mocha St Agni Petit Belt Detail Wedge and Jan Logan 9ct yellow gold green amethyst & green agate rona earrings – a dream.

Emily Algar

Beauty Editor

My NYE will be spent at the iconic La Poste pub in Cortina, Italy. No summer dresses or sandals here. But I do think I’ll wear my favourite A.Golde Jeans (this pair – I live in them and have them in two washes) with my classic black boots from The Row (here’s a really similar option from Tony Bianco). I just had a sole put on them so I don’t slip over in the snow.

I’ll probably layer a black turtle neck (hot tip, the Uniqlo thermals are super fine so great for layering) with a fun jacket. This one from Arket is beautiful and at such a great price. To break up all the black I need some jewelry – I love these drop earrings from Heaven Mayhem. I’d probably add this matching cuff worn outside the sleeve of my jacket for good measure.

I would go to extreme lengths to own this Nour Hammour coat to keep me warm as I walk back to my hotel, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Onto the 2026 vision board it goes…

Sophia Serafin

Implementation Manager

I’m not sure where I’ll be this New Years… but here are two dream scenarios – and the outfits to match:

A disco-party, aka an excuse to bring out the sparkle. I’d channel the Prada FW1997 collection with an embellished minidress from MIU MIU or Self-Portrait, a festive bag by Rabanne or Staud, and my dream burgundy Saint Laurent mule. Add some bling – anything from Laura Miers for jewels, a Wildflower case, and a shimmer on the eye from Victoria Beckham. If I were in New York (or any cold climate), I’d throw on this Frankie Shop plush coat which feels so Carrie Bradshaw. Dinner at sunset by the water with my closest friends – still very much an excuse to dress up. I’d opt for a Dôen Silk check dress or a fun top from St Agni or Sharon Wauchob, paired with R13 denim. I’d finish it off with Merit’s five-minute set, swimmers underneath just in-case, and my favourite bottle of wine for sharing.

Jaime Carmody

Digital Marketing Specialist

For New Years Eve this year, I’m on the hunt for just the right hint of sparkle. I love this Ganni fur bag or this Paco Rabanne shoulder bag for a bit of metallic glamour. I’m also loving these Studio Amelia heels in pink for a pop of colour and these Bec + Bridge heels in burgundy. I’m really drawn to this flirty little La-lu Label tank, this sleek Little Yarn 2 piece set as well as these jeans from Cos at the moment.

I’ve been eyeing off this gorgeous mini dress from Par Moi for something a little playful. And to finish the look, I’ll be swiping on Merits signature lip in a bold red for the night, sorry in advance to my new years kiss. I also have these silver hoops from Saint Valentine wish listed for an extra touch of glam.

Mia Steiber

Digital Strategy Director & Associate Publisher

My New Year’s Eves are generally spent by the beach or the pool, so in all honesty, the last two years my outfit has simply been a swimsuit with some linen pants over the top. This year will likely be the same. I have a strapless one-piece that doubles as a bodysuit when needed, it’s from Elce Swim and while they don’t sell it anymore, this Bond-eye piece is nearly identical. For over the top I want these St. Agni pants, they’re so light-weight and breezey. These Tony Bianco flip flops will be the perfect sandal to match.

Beauty will be minimal, I’ll probably just add a blush and bronze when I get out of the water. Since I lost my favourite jelly blush, I’ve been substituting with the Dior Lip Glow in Strawberry and honestly, it kind of works as the perfect sheer, cream blush. I’ve also been loving the Haleau Beauty bronze highlighter. I use it all over, as a highlighter, eyeshadow and even on my collarbones.

As my little touch of bling, I have my Natalie Marie Jewellery tennis bracelet and my beloved Stella McCartney Falabella bag that I bought on my recent trip to Japan.

Kirsty Thatcher

Digital Editor

My New Year’s plans are still up in the air (aren’t they always?) but I know they will involve sunshine and champagne, one way or another. This Bondi Born dress is so perfect for summer — it would double as a great Christmas Day look, too.

During the day, I’m planning on parking myself at the beach, preferably in this buttermilk bikini by Faithfull. I also love this wrap dress by Soleil Soleil as the perfect throw-on for nipping away for some lunch.

For something a little more party-esque, this cherry red top and skirt combo by Hansen and Gretel currently lives rent free in my head. I love that it’s the same colour as this Roro Apertivo Spritz, which is my new favourite drink (and no doubt what I’ll be sipping at midnight). It would be cute with these heels from Tony Bianco, but if I’m being realistic, I’ll probably be running around in my Havianas.

Last but not least, no NYE look is complete without jewellery. I’m eyeing up these vintage-inspired earrings by Heaven Mayhem.

Alys Hale

Music Editor and Creative Producer

The best new years I’ve ever had are those I do not plan, however, that doesn’t mean I can’t at least plan some outfits. Potential scenarios include a ridiculous houseparty that inevitably one of my friends’ themes, in that case I’d love this sparkly vision from Self Portrait, however, I don’t do bare legs so I’ll be getting some Wolford Velvet de Luxe tights.

I’d also throw on a knee high boot with a sensible heel for all night dancing, these Chloe Phoenix boots. They would be wonderful as they would become a wardrobe staple for the rest of the year. Alternatively, have you ever really seen a sexier look at a party than a woman in a tuxedo? I would love to do the Christoper Esber contrast tuxedo with nothing underneath and statement earrings, like these, from my favourite Serpent and the Swan.

Samantha Corry

Social Media Coordinator and Assistant to Editor in Chief

For New Years I will actually be at Lost Paradise the music festival, where this will actually be my first time camping at a festival. And I haven’t actually thought about what I will be wearing. Considering the location, most likely in denim shorts, I liked these from Venroy and these Hunter boots (Classic for a festival) and this Realisation Par Cheetah singlet. And to top off a straw hat.

I will of course be taking my ride or die Uniqlo mini half bag. I will be sweating a lot I can imagine, so I will be purchasing a bottle of Krylolan setting spray. I heard it’s like hairspray for your makeup.

If you’re needing something to celebrate the holiday season in a little earlier, check out our edit of Christmas Day outfits, from luxury pyjamas for present opening to fluid silhouettes for lunch, and party dresses for the evening.

Whichever way your mood swings, we’re wishing you a happy and safe holiday season to you and yours. With love, RUSSH.

Last-minute Christmas gifts that still feel considered https://www.russh.com/last-minute-christmas-gifts/ Mon, 15 Dec 2025 05:45:13 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=274562 A considered guide to last-minute Christmas gifts across beauty, fashion, and homewares, designed for when time is short.

Somehow, the end of the year always arrives faster than expected. One minute it feels like there is plenty of time, and the next December is closing in, calendars are full, delivery cut-offs are looming, and Christmas is suddenly a week away. It happens every year, yet it never feels predictable.

That sense of acceleration is exactly where last-minute gifting lives. It is less about poor planning and more about how quickly the year folds in on itself, leaving little room for deliberation and even less appetite for overthinking. The challenge becomes finding gifts that feel resolved and relevant without adding another task to an already crowded end-of-year stretch.

This guide focuses on pieces that make sense in real life, even when time is tight. Across beauty, fashion, and homewares, these are gifts chosen for their usefulness, longevity, and ability to slot seamlessly into daily routines.

Everything here is available via express delivery, click-and-collect, or delivery windows that still align with Christmas timelines, so the emphasis stays on choosing well rather than racing the clock. Happy shopping, and happy holidays.

The ‘RUSSH’ editors share our beach essentials for summer https://www.russh.com/editors-beach-essentials-for-summer/ Tue, 09 Dec 2025 02:00:19 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=237295 Summer is here and it's time to hit the sand. Here are our beach essentials.

The post The ‘RUSSH’ editors share our beach essentials for summer appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
As the days get longer and the ocean gets warmer, time spent on golden sands is a daily ritual for us at the office. You may be wondering what essentials the RUSSH editors are turning to this season? Think of our favourite swimwear from go-to brands like Matteau and FAITHFULL – to BAINA’s lush towels and the perfect beachside books. Something to carry it all? We’re taking bags from PALOROSA and Dragon Diffusion. And, of course, sunscreen remains the season’s most vital companion.

The RUSSH editors have rounded up everything you need for a sun-soaked season done right. Without further ado, we’ll see you out there.

Cassandra Dimitroff

Features and Production Editor

First and foremost – a good book. Right now I’m trying to track down a copy of the brand-new memoir from Cameron Crowe: The Uncool.

If you ask me, my Palorosa bag is the ultimate beach bag (it’s made of woven plastic so it’s great for all-terrain and wet swimmers). Aesop’s Protective Lip Balm SPF30 is a must. As is Outside Beauty’s SPF 50+ Lip to Cheek.

For swimwear, I’m living in my LIDO swimsuit – the softest and most comfortable suit I’ve ever worn. And I’m very into a throw-on dress – like this Foemina Lindy Dress in White Poplin for ultimate post-swim comfort.

Elyssa Kostopoulos

Content Director & Watch Editor

Having spent a few European summers learning the lore of the beach essential from my cousins in Corinthos, Greece, I think I have finally narrowed the list down. The art – at least as far as I’ve realised – is a really good one of everything. An example, why are you hoarding your beach towels from a decade ago when you could look after one really beautiful piece? Let me continue.

In my beach essentials, you will always find:

A foolproof bikini or swimsuit that I will feel comfortable in all day, and can wear well under a cover up if I do happen to find myself taking the journey from beach to bar. One of my favourite swimwear brands of all time is FELLA, and I am already living in the brand’s Tony Top and matching Giuseppe Beaded Bottom this summer. This leads me to cover ups – the RUSSH team have put together a list of our favourite beach cover ups for you to shop, but I currently have the Ritual Sarong from Romy the Brand on my Christmas wishlist. I like that it’s long enough to tie as a dress if necessary, too.SPF is a non-negotiable every day of the week, and in my beach bag, I always keep a bottle of Cetaphil Sun Ultra-Light Lotion SPF 50+ for the body, and La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Fluid Facial Sunscreen SPF 50+ for the face.Keeping on the theme of sun protection, I always take my Lack of Colour straw hat with me to every beach day. It’s no longer in stock, but I found this one from COS which is very similar. Also, I love a big pair of sunglasses for the beach – almost veering into goggle territory. I was very lucky to recently receive a new pair from Luv Lou that I adore, but since they’re not available just yet, they remind me of these Loewe aviators which I also love.I’ll leave you to make your own decision about the best beach towels, but I love the Umber towel from Kobn. It’s lightweight enough to carry but super absorbent and comfortable. It also fits perfectly underneath my trusty beach umbrella from Basil Bangs that I bought for Christmas a few years back. And lastly, a sturdy tote bag that doesn’t compromise and is comfortable enough to carry around all day long. A hobo style is always my preference, like this one from Khaite. Inside you will always find a packet of Detol wipes – you’ll thank me later.

Kirsty Thatcher

Digital Editor

I don’t remember how I used to spend a summer’s weekend before I moved to Sydney, and basically had the beach at my doorstep. First rule of thumb for a beach day, you need a great bag. This Mimmi Terra basket is water-resistant, durable, and very chic. I’m also a big fan of the brand MUUN – in particular this leather-trimmed straw tote (which is currently on sale).

Inside my bag, I’ll always have my Kindle and Airpods, ready for some R&R. Sun protection is obviously a necessity – I love the Ultra Violette Supreme Screen for my face, as well as the Hand and Body version (which smells amazing). This hat by Arms of Eve is great, as are basically all of Faithfull’s button up shirts – I love to throw them on over a bikini. Speaking of which, this one by SIR is currently sitting in my shopping cart.

Lastly, sustenance is a must for a beach day. Corn chips and a Coke Zero are my go-tos.

Sophia Serafin

Implementation Manager

I’m at the beach every moment I can – Bronte, McKenzie’s Bay, Clovelly, Neilson Park – and I’m usually running out the door with a muddled-collection of the below fail-safes:

To wear: A Cleonie lilac one-piece, and a shirt like this over the top. Easy-wearing sunglasses and a cap allow me to people-watch in peace. On the feet, Haviana’s or Suicoke’s are my go-to’s.

For the skin: La Prairie Caviar Mist to keep cool and this SPF50+ for protection.

In my dream beach bag: a drink bottle with ice-cold water, a comfy towel in-case I’m sitting on concrete or rocks, and my kindle for reading

To eat: If close by, I’ll stop at Iggy’s for a croissant, or pick up a well-earned burger from Out of The Blue after a tiresome day by the beach.

Mia Steiber

Digital Strategy Director

I have a well curated selection of beach essentials. I live by the ocean so I’m at the beach a lot, and I feel like I have my beach bag down to a fine art. I do have a fair few bikinis but I usually gravitate towards a black one piece as it’s so easy to layer. I love the Bond-Eye Mara suit but I’ve also been looking at this Gooseberry one.

Then, a pair of denim cut offs is essential. I love the Agolde ones, the Rollas ones are excellent too. Choose a basket bag you’re happy to get sandy. I bought mine from my local Harris Farm but this Revolve one is almost the exact same (I have a sneaking suspicion it is in fact the exact same). It’s sturdy and chic.

My Kindle Colorsoft is rarely outside of arms reach these days – I’m currently reading Brimstone. It’s waterproof so I love taking it to the beach. I always have the largest size of the Ultra Violette body sunscreen in my beach bag.

Finally, a few pieces to help cover up when the sun is too much. I love the Baina beach towels, they’re so soft. A hat is essential, I’m eyeing this Casa Del Sol one at the moment. Then, I’m kind of obsessed with the Pete Pareo oversized tees – they really are the perfect post swim cover up.

Magdalene Shapter

Designer & Producer

I’m a covert beach girl. I may be sheet-pale and only wear black, but equally, I like the feeling of sand between my toes and my hair always looks better after a saltwater rinse. In Sydney, a beach trip is ever imminent, so my bag (either my Palorosa tote or Pan After Plaid bag) is permanently packed and ready.

Sunscreen is my non-negotiable. Lately I’ve been alternating between Fuca and Mother SPF for body, and Emma Lewisham Sunceutical SPF 50 for my face.

My current beach reading rotation includes Mark Ronson’s memoir Night People, a book of poems by Alice Oswald titled Dart and the latest RUSSH issue, obviously.

My Gentle Monster Kiko’s are a constant, but I’ve recently introduced the DMY Valentina sunglasses into my eyewear mix too. If the wind picks up, I throw on my Flore Flore Iman Longsleeve top, which looks so great styled back with pieces from Santangelo.

My ultimate beach essential is the Acca Kappa hairbrush. After a detangle, I keep my locks tamed and tidy with the Mosquito Tapia hair comb.

Jaime Carmody

Digital Marketing Specialist

My beach essentials are pretty curated this Summer, everything in it has earned its rightful place. I’m a big fan of triangle bikinis and this Matteau set fits the brief perfectly. Kye Intimates is my favourite beach wear. I honestly live in these pants and tanks, both a perfect mix of comfort and chic.

My worn in Dragon Diffusion bag is the perfect size for hauling all the little things I convince myself are essential. Inside, you’ll find Aesop facial spray and hand cream, plus a bottle of San Pellegrino (IFKYK). My Gentle Monster sunglasses live inside the pocket alongside my Mecca sunscreen and Summer Fridays lip balm.

Other essentials, My Saloon Store hairbrush, a comfy pair of thongs, Baina pool towel, Airpods and naturally a good book. Lately I’ve really been enjoying poetry at the beach. At the moment I’m reading Female Embodiment by Aliza Grace.

I swim pool laps regularly, but my favourite way of swimming is in the sea, wholly underwater. The complete immersion and sensory experience of being in the moment is relaxing and revitalising at the same time. This Gentle Habits snorkel and mask could take me to mermaid status.

While I’m not a fan of sand per se, I love the beach, and the sound of the waves is probably my favourite sound. Being able to minimise sand getting into everything is a win for me and this beach chair elevates the beach game too, as does this Zimmermann fringed beach bag.

My go to swimwear label is Matteau, and I’m loving the new bamboo pattern on this Matteau bikini top and briefs, and this dress is perfect for covering up if the sun gets too much or you need to duck into the shops on the way home via Charcoal Charlies.

And my absolute beach essentials are sunglasses, like these Loewe shades, and a good sunscreen. Happy days.

There comes a moment in every morning routine when you swear you just saw your concealer. Then suddenly it’s gone, lost somewhere in the depths of a bag that feels more like a portal, and you’re standing there with an uneven brow situation you definitely didn’t ask for. A universal rite of passage. Which is why we’ve rounded up the makeup bags and vanity cases that actually make sense for how we move through life.

The roomy ones that hold your entire getting-ready personality. The smaller, cuter companions that slide into a work tote without protesting. And the travel options that won’t burst open in transit like a tragic cosmetics crime scene. Consider this your guide to keeping everything in its place, even when you’re not.

If you’re already reorganising your bag, this is usually the moment you start taking stock of your actual beauty kit and the items you reach for every day. The forgotten favourites sitting at the bottom, the products you swore you’d try after seeing them blow up on TikTok earlier in the year. A tidy makeup case has a way of exposing the truth of your routine, and sometimes, it can even be that final push to bring in something new.

It’s a good time of year for that. December has a pace of its own and beauty becomes part of the gifting conversation. Fragrance for the friend who never buys it for herself. A skincare trio for the cousin who keeps asking what you use. Our beauty gift guide covers all of it.

You can also use this moment to revisit the products everyone has been talking about in 2025. We’ve rounded up the standouts, so you can sort the true performers from the passing noise.

December always brings our attention back to home. Between hosting, reorganising and settling into the slower days ahead, we’ve been thinking about the furniture and homewares we’re genuinely coveting this month. Across the team, a clear pattern emerges – pieces that feel useful, well-made and worth having in our spaces right now.

Elyssa Kostopoulos

Content Director

During my usual TikTok doomscroll, I came across my dream dining room situation (as pictured to the left above), and am now on the hunt to recreate in my own home. I already own a stainless steel side table in my living room, so bringing this material into my dining room feels natural. I discovered a miracle find on 1stDibs for these Chippensteeel 0.5 Chairs by Zieta, in polished stainless steel, which would be an absolute dream.

As for dining tables, MCM House’s new Club Cabana has so many options to choose from. I love the rectangular orientation of the Bossi Rectangular Dining Table and the detailing in the legs, but on the other hand, can’t get over the colour and intrigue of the Olay Round Dining Table. Decisions decisions.

Of course, there’s still decorations to consider, and while I haven’t found the perfect artwork yet (which might call for a weekend walking around the galleries very soon), I did find this Louise Roe vase, which I would pair with an iconic Dinosaur Designs Branch Bowl.

Mia Steiber

Digital Strategy Director & Associate Publisher

I have a fair few entertaining-at-home affairs planned over the summer. Thus, I’m making sure I’m prepared now so I’m not scrambling for tableware the days before. I really love the new ceramics at Saarde and I think this serving bowl is perfect for what I need this summer. I love the pattern. I always use tablecloths over placemats when I have people around and I would really love this Maison Balzac sunprint one or this elegant Cultiver one for Christmas (hopefully Santa reads this?).

I love this silverware set from Mesa Collections for serving. I’m down to my second last stick of this Aesop incense so I will top up, it’s my fourth box, I’m addicted.

And finally – not something I’m buying as I own them – people always ask where I got my favourite black candle sticks from. I bought mine years ago, but you can get almost identical ones from Net-a-Porter.

Stacey Gaskin

Consumer Revenue Manager

My mind has been on all things kitchen for homewares this month, which is hardly shocking, given hosting season. I was gifted this Fridays From The Garden cookbook by Flamingo Estate and I can genuinely say I haven’t been as excited by a cookbook like this in so long. This cookbook is my new favourite and I cannot wait to make my way through its recipes from now and into 2026.

This Lobster Platter and Hand Cake Server from Maison Balzac are in my cart (obsessed), and this French Flax Linen Ruffles Table Cloth from I Love Linen is a great base for holiday table scapes.

These Gohar World Off-White Dove Salad Servers are beautiful and are on my Christmas wishlist, along with Rachel Donath’s Grace Counter Stools. And I am very excited for some luxurious holiday refreshments, courtesy of TENUTA SANT’ANNA Prosecco Rosé DOC. Delicious.

Outdoor festivities are the best festivities in my opinion, especially in Australian summer. I have these Nanoleaf outdoor lights in the post, and will be hanging them in my backyard over my lawn – such a mood-setter for dinner parties.

Lastly, this Mesa Tray – Forest Brown Marble from RJ Living will be the new home for my keys. And I’m in need of a sofa bed that is chic and comfortable, so I’m looking at the Eva Slideaway Sofa Bed in Oatmeal. Love that the fabrication is 100% french linen.

Cassandra Dimitroff

Features and Production Editor

To My Shops Of The Gods Hand Soap – I recently visited Carnation Canteen in Fitzroy and they had this hand soap in the bathroom. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best thing I’ve ever smelled in my life.

My current (cheap) set of cutlery is finally on its last legs after serving me well across multiple share houses – I’m wondering if it’s time to finally invest in my dream set of flatware from Sabre’s Bistro collection? Right now my apartment smells like Santa Maria Novella’s Armenia Paper – the perfect home scent and what The Row burn in their boutiques, in case you were wondering.

And what home is complete without some vino to enjoy under its roof? Right now I’m eyeing off this ‘Taste the Symphony’ Gift Pack by HandPicked Wines.

Sophia Serafin

Implementation Manager

No doubt we’re all seeking a sense of calm in the most chaotic month of the year. I’m personally gravitating towards grounding colour palettes and little luxuries that soothe amidst the madness.

I’ll be ordering my favourite wine, Momento Mori from Winona Wines – and maybe picking up a few stocking-stuffers from their Objects selection. I’m also a big fan of Mecca coffee in Paddington, so am planning to integrate their beans into my daily ritual.

Lee Mathews has the sweetest gifting edit at the moment, and I’m planning to treat myself to a simple oak pepper mill and a new toothbrush while I’m there – instant elevation for the everyday.

A few more things I’m eyeing – a Tanchen stool for the living room, these frilly pillowcases, and a ceramic candle from the Provider Store (which you can have refilled or even turn into a mug, making it feel that little bit more special).

Alys Hale

Music Editor and Creative Producer

How much are we all looking forward to some much needed time at home? This year has been so huge and whilst I want to adventure across the coast I am so in need of a short staycation and giving my home a little love. I would love to get an outdoor dining table so I can dine alfresco on those long hot nights. I have some steel furniture so Fleur Studio’s SS-DIN03BR 100 could be the perfect addition, I tend to collect pieces when I see something I love, rather than invest in sets.

I also need to use the break to get organised and this Mustard Made Midi Locker would be great for hiding all the home office clutter that one needs but doesn’t want to see after 6pm. Byredo’s Bibliotechque is my forever home fragrance, and I would love to have one burning by the bookcases all summer.

My kitten and I have been in discussions. He is pushing that we get a sofa for him to luxuriate on, rather than just arm chairs. The Cameleonda came up. However, it will most likely be me finding something strange at Lawsons.

Aleks Beare

Brand Art Director

I love this time of year…summer and celebrations. With family and friends dropping by, there is always something to ‘cheers’ and I have my eye on these RIEDEL coupe glasses which are perfect for cocktails, and for celebrating with some Dom Pérignon.

These Citta beach towels retro vibe are going to look great with time spent by the pool. And speaking of retro vibes, I’m loving this Jojo lamp for the bedside. And it’s probably a good time to refresh my dog Gus’ bed, and this Henri dog bed looks perfect for summer snoozing.

Jaime Carmody

Digital Marketing Specialist

December always becomes the month of hosting (which I love!) and with hosting comes the inevitable urge to elevate my tablescape. These serving plates from Dinosaur Designs are my go to for entertaining or for a random ‘girl dinner’. I’m also loving these Fazeek coupes; they’re not only perfect for the festive season but year round hosting alike.

Lately I’ve been on the hunt for new lighting, and this chrome lamp feels like the perfect addition to my current style. I’m equally obsessed with this chrome coffee mug and this aluminium pepper mill. These tiny upgrades make the everyday feel more considered. I’ve also been intrigued by the idea of adding this cobalt blue rug to my living room. Honestly, the fact that it is machine washable is a serious bonus.

To round things out, I’ve been wanting to elevate my evening routine from a little luxury from Lesse- this towel and gua sha are the perfect additions to my bathroom.

Swimwear the ‘RUSSH’ editors are buying for summer https://www.russh.com/russh-editors-favourite-swimwear/ Wed, 03 Dec 2025 02:45:31 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=197804 It's time to begin the hunt for a new summer uniform.

The post Swimwear the ‘RUSSH’ editors are buying for summer appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
Swimwear is one of those categories that refuses to be one size fits all. Bodies, preferences, fabric quirks, support needs. Everyone is working to a different brief. So instead of pretending there is a universal answer, the RUSSH editors are sharing the styles we genuinely reach for, along with a few pieces that have earned a spot on our wishlists. Consider this the real shortlist for summer.

Kirsty Thatcher

Digital Editor

My swimwear draw is (literally) overflowing, so I feel qualified to speak on this topic. You typically won’t find me swimming in anything other than a string bikini, and there are a few brands I’m loyal to. Faithfull is always my go-to, and this summer I’m eyeing off this buttermilk top and bottoms – I love the addition of beading for a little bit of interest. Triangl also nails the classic string bikini – I was recently given this blue pair, and can’t fault them.

In the spirit of growing up, I’ve also diversified my swimwear to include this top (it’s unbelievably flattering, thanks to a tie-back situation) and bottoms, both by Monday Swimwear.

And I’ve recently purchased this one piece by Assembly – I love that it’s simple and practical, but has a little bit going on at the back.

Jaime Carmody

Digital Marketing Specialist

My swimwear wishlist is feeling very minimal this Summer (which I’m not mad about at all). Faithfull’s Eden bikini in hazelnut is the neutral I know I’ll reach for on repeat; simple, and quietly flattering. I’m also loving this sea toned blue bikini.

No swim wishlist is complete without Hunza G. The Pamela swimsuit. On the more timeless side, this triangle top by Matteau is exactly what I’m picturing for those days when simplicity feels best.

Sophia Serafin

Implementation Manager

Swimwear can be tricky with a bust, so I always revert to what I know works best. I have many colour and fabric variations of the Casanova Bikini Top from Fella Swim, paired with their Chad Bottoms. Faithfull the Brand’s Sol Bikini has a similar shape which I find flattering too. This chocolate one-piece from Faithfull, which also comes in a butter shade, is gorgeous for a more full-coverage moment.

I’ve also had my eye on these striped terry shorts from Venroy and a fun coverup from Johanna Oritz.

Mia Steiber

Digital Strategy Director & Associate Publisher

I am in the water a lot in the summer months, so I don’t feel too bad about having a robust collection of swimwear. As long as you buy quality, it lasts for years. I am very invested in finding a bronzey toned set this year, and I love the Olah string bikinis from Bokumaia. Whether you’re petite and busty or full figured, Bokumaia is incredible for any kind of curves and I always feel my best in this brand. I’m also looking at this rust set from Sommer Swim, I love the gold detailing.

Speaking of gold detailing, the purple sets at Bydee are total head-turners. I’ve been eyeing off some of those pieces since last summer. Finally, the elastic in my absolute favourite black swimwear finally died. We had a wonderful 9 years together, alas it is now having a new life in the fabric recycling bin. But this means I need a new black one-piece and at this stage I’m tossing up between this strapless Myra Swim maillot and this Gooseberry one that is all over my Instagram feed. I do plan to top off all my swimwear looks with this SPF bronzing body oil for the perfect faux summer glow.

Stacey Gaskin

Consumer Revenue Manager

Black and brown tones are usually my go-to colour preferences for most of my wardrobe. But, I want to brighten things up a bit this summer and what better way to incorporate some colour than in swimwear.

This Tidal Swimwear String Back One Piece from ModiBodi is made from Seaqual recycled ocean plastics and is great for anyone on their period. Love the low back and ties.

Hunza G’s red Coverage Juno Bikini looks comfortable and would compliment my fair skin, and I’m in love with the green and ivory Crete Swim Cardi and matching Capri Top and Santa Cruz Short from Monday Swimwear.

Last, but certainly not least, I must immediately get my hands on the Palermo Top and Balboa Bottom in Chérie from Bydee – it’s stunning.

Cassandra Dimitroff

Features and Production Editor

The LA-LU Peggy One Piece (also in my December shopping list) is a must for summer. The whole brand is so fun and has some really fresh takes on swimwear silhouettes.

One Mile has recently branched out into swimwear too and has such fun silhouettes that can double for beach-side attire – love the Nali Strapless Top Yellow Polka and matching Nali Boyshort. They also have this incredible Cabo Halter One Piece in Azure Sol – which you can pair with a whole range of matching sheer skirts and tops. LIDO’s Trentasei Striped one piece is also high on the list – alongside this Peony Swim Ruched Crop.

The post What the ‘RUSSH’ editors are shopping in December appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
December always creeps in on a tide of half-written to-do lists and overflowing tabs, and this year is no different. Our calendars are filling with end-of-year drinks, beach days and last-minute dinners, and the group chat is mostly outfit planning and gift reconnaissance. In between it all, we have been quietly bookmarking the pieces we want to wear, use and wrap for someone else. Below, the RUSSH team shares what is sitting at the top of their December wishlists – from sundresses and sunglasses to jewellery, swimwear and the gifts we are actually buying.

Samantha Corry

Social Media Coordinator & Assistant to Editor In Chief

The news that Chloé is opening a store in Sydney was music to my ears as there are a few pieces that have grabbed my attention, and I would love to try them on. This Lace-trimmed silk-jacquard camisole is one I have eyed for a while. I have also been thinking about getting a new camera, and I love the FujiFilm 100x. The colour grading is just so good. Stella McCartney’s t-shirt in collaboration with Jeff Koons has also been a ‘want’ on my list for a while. And practically, my glasses broke last week, so I need to get a new pair ASAP as I am struggling without. I love these round Chloé frames. I also really want A24’s screenplay book for Priscilla. I’m in a phase of reading screenplays and this one would make a great christmas present.

Jaime Carmody

Digital Marketing Specialist

With most of my wardrobe sitting firmly in the minimalist camp, I’ve been reaching for accessories as a way of adding a bit of colour and texture. First on my wishlist: this silk scrunchie from SALOON store. This is the exact soft, undone hair energy I’m forever aspiring to. This beautiful earring set by Saint Valentine is the latest addition to my ear stack and sure to be on high rotation all year round. This FAITHFULL maxi is the summer dress I see myself wearing everywhere – weekend, lingering events with a simple black sandal. I’m never too experimental with eyewear, these DMY Studios sunglasses have won me over. My dream bag right now is this Jacquemus woven tote for reasons that feel endless. In beauty, Merit’s signature lip sits at the top of the list: effortless, everyday and just enough to feel indulgent. I’m also due for a top up of Aesop’s Facial Hydrator as we slide into the warmer weather.

Kirsty Thatcher

Digital Editor

Shoes have been at the top of my want (and need) list this month. I finally pulled the trigger on these sandals by A Emery – they’re the perfect simple, staple pair. Still on my list are these woven flats by Alias Mae. I did a deep dive into the woven trend this week, and now they’re all I can think about.

Now that it’s boiling hot in Sydney, I am investing in sundresses, which Faithfull do so well – I love the colour and low-waisted silhouette of this one. I am also genuinely obsessed with this black dress by Little Yarn – the back cut-out is perfect. And for something a little dressier as we enter the festive season, the seafoam colour of this mini dress by Hansen and Gretel really does something for me.

And last but certainly not least, I think this red beaded mini bag would be the perfect addition to just about any summer outfit.

Stacey Gaskin

Consumer Revenue Manager

I am travelling to New Zealand later this month for a wedding, so I have been browsing FAITHFULL’s site for some pre and post event attire and I love this Lova Midi Dress Maia Stripe Burgundy, as well as this Anniken Maxi Dress Agua Stripe Mustard.

These Verali Stoked Block Heel Thongs will prove comfortable and chic while over there.

MATTEAU’s Broderie anglaise cotton mini dress is very cute for beach days and is on my wishlist. Yu Mei has been on my mind for weeks at this point, particularly this Antonia shoulder bag. Their brown suede bags are also to die for.

I need a restock of the Merit, The Minimalist perfecting complexion stick, and I may grab it in a darker shade for summer. These Saint Valentine North Star Mini Hoops are in my cart, as well as these By Charlotte Gold Protection of Eye Hoops.

While I did complete most of my gift shopping in November, there are a couple purchases I’m making this month, firstly, the amazon Kindle Colorsoft – such a great gift idea, and secondly, I’ve been using a Fressko drink bottle for a few months and it’s a favourite of mine, so I will be gifting a Move drink bottle to a special someone.

Alys Hale

Music Editor and Creative Producer

I love December, the energy in the city is palpable, the weather is ever improving, and it is a wonderful month to be social. It’s no secret that I love to host in the summer months, whether on my pink deck or in the shade of the dining room below. Since perfecting my bisque I am desperate for a new dinner service. La Casa Home’s Visconti Dinner set has been in my cart for a while and now it’s on sale, I simply must. I will also be offering a little digestif and do not adhere to whisky being only for the winter months. This Enigma from Callington Mill distillery has become a fan favourite chez moi with a singular ice cube. December is also the month for fantasising about what Father Christmas could bring you. Have I been good enough for the Phoebe Philo Pocket Gig in Oxblood? Perhaps the Ann transparent shirt to continue my long-line everything obsession? Everyone needs a good pair of party shoes for the festive season and I have my heart set on these Green CutOut Heels by Dries, swoon.

Sophia Serafin

Implementation Manager

I’ve got my eyes on some basics this month – a St. Agni tank that I spotted Kirsty wearing in the office, and a striped poplin boxer-short from Comme-Si. For easy summer dressing, I’m eyeing a Staud mini dress and a cuffed pair of off-white COS jeans. Accessories have also been on my mind – I’m looking for a barely-there heel, and this MM6 pair fits the brief, along with a new tote – I love the brown suede and gold hardware on this Coach bucket bag.

A big portion of my spending this month will go to Christmas shopping, which I love doing in person. The Strand Arcade has all go-to’s for gifting: Santa Maria Novella, Maison Balzac, Haighs, Dinosaur Designs, and The Nut Shop (for shopping sustenance).

If I could add one thing to my own Santa list this year, it would be this dreamy ring from Spinelli Kilcollin.

Cassandra Dimitroff

Features and Production Editor

I’m in need of some cute swimwear and I’ve had my eye on this Peggy One-Piece from La-Lu Swim, and this Hunza G

Pamela Striped Swimsuit (I’ve had one from this brand before and they are EXCELLENT). I’m also in desperate need of some loose suit pants perfect for summer office days, and right now the top of my list are these COS Relaxed Twill Wide-Leg Pants. And for the ultimate Friendsmas dinner contribution, a bottle of Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial Limited Edition 2025 End of Year.

Mia Steiber

Digital Strategy Director & Associate Publisher

I won’t lie, my Black Friday and Cyber Monday wish list was overflowing. But I definitely have a few stand outs pieces that I think will carry me through many seasons to come. First, I love these Ancient Greek Sandals. They’re rubber meaning that they still look chic but you don’t have to feel bad getting them wet or taking them to the beach. The perfect holiday shoe in my view. I want this low rise belt to add to a festival outfit I’m slowly curating. This basket bag I first saw in one of Kirsty’s fashion edits and I fell in love with it. I think it would be perfect with the aforementioned sandals, this white lace top from Staud and a pair of denim cut offs. Dream summer outfit. I love having a pair of go-to linen pants to dress up or down and these chocolatey Faithfull ones are perfect. Finally, this peachy dress from Mister Zimi is so delightfully summery, I feel like I can’t not buy it.

Emily Algar

Beauty Editor

I’ve actually been shopping for a lot of winter pieces for an upcoming snow trip. I snagged a Charlotte Simone coat in her recent drop – praying it arrives on time. I also bought a vintage black pea coat from the 60s from Potts Point Vintage. It was $245. Highly recommend you pay a visit if you’re in Sydney. With that being said, Sydney summer and the black Friday sales have me in a chokehold. The Net-A-Porter sale is crazy – this Liffner clutch is gorgeous and a great price. I’m not usually one for print or statement pieces but I adore this Norma Kamali dress. The spots are fun and the shape is perfect. I am also a Toteme loyalist – I buy a lot and wear the pieces constantly. In my cart is this beautiful semi-sheer shirt. Perfect over a tank in the office or a fun bra with a mini skirt on a night out.

I’m also in need of some easy summer dresses to throw over my swimmers. As Kirsty mentioned, Faithfull is a reliable classic. This strapless one is my pick, as well as this longer one that’s made for long lunches (ie, loose, long and breezy).

Finally, I’m restocking on some of my beauty staples right now, including Cicaplast (everyone needs a tube of this) and Aesop hand wash (nothing beats it).

Magdalene Shapter

Designer & Producer

I tend to spiral when I open my wardrobe in December. How do I dress for the heat again? After 9 months of jackets, tailoring and layering, and a predisposition to self-identify with winter outfitting, I begin to grapple with my sense of self when the days get longer and hotter. Fortunately, there isn’t a shortage of interesting summer pieces summoning me in my shopping tabs. I keep returning to this Sc103 skirt, this Rave Review dress and Anita Ov’s Bias Stripe Tee.

Do I need some more Pleats Please pieces? (That’s a rhetorical question). This top has been in my cart for weeks, and I swear by my current Issey Pleats separates when I travel.

As event season accelerates, I’m eyeing this mini dress from Beare Park, these heels from Paris Georgia, and the Tissot Ballade 30mm to tie it all together (and make sure I get to all my events on time).

Stay

The Machinery Shed sits inside a century-old apple orchard on the edge of the Kanimbla escarpment, and you feel that history from the moment you arrive. The building mixes industrial and mid-century design with timber throughout, and a full wall of glass doors and windows that frame the view of the mountains ahead.

Walking inside, the fairy lights across the ceiling, the soft furnishings, the indoor plants and the open floorplan stopped me in my tracks. It felt like a real oasis, set up with everything you could need. There’s a TV with Netflix and Stan, board games for slow afternoons, and excellent wifi, which I ended up relying on while I logged on to get a little work done.

The fireplace became our anchor after sunset. We spent both nights sitting around it, talking through the day and toasting marshmallows like we were far further from home than we actually were. In the mornings, I took my coffee outside and sat in the hanging chair, taking in the view before we planned anything at all.

Do

A walk through the orchard is a must – even out of season, it’s beautiful. The rows of apple trees stretch out in every direction, and the nets above them give the whole place a unique glow when the light comes through.

One must also make the very short walk downhill and through the gate to find the outdoor bath perched on a deck with the most incredible view I’ve ever had from a tub. I stayed until the water went cold.

When we wanted to explore beyond the property, we took the car out for a slow drive around the Blue Mountains. Blackheath and Katoomba – each spot has its own lookouts and winding roads, and half the fun is pulling over whenever something catches your eye.

Eat

Food ended up being one of the nicest parts of the stay because everything felt easy. We stopped at Harris Farm before the drive up and stocked the basics – bread, fruit, snacks and a few things to throw together for grazing in the afternoon. Once we arrived, we set it all out in the living area and picked at it while settling in.

Breakfast was our slowest moment each day. The kitchen is fully set up, so we made pancakes and eggs from the free range chickens (so cute) and sat by the window with the mountains right there in front of us. When I wanted something quick, I’d grab tea or a coffee from the Breville machine (one of my favourite parts of the stay).

One evening, we drove to The New Ivanhoe Hotel in Blackheath and ordered arancini, barramundi and a parmi. It hit the mark after a day of walking, lounging and working online. And of course, the marshmallows by the fire became a nightly ritual. Simple, but it worked perfectly with the pace of the stay.

Take

I kept my packing light for this trip, and it ended up being all I needed. A book was essential for slow moments on the deck, and sunglasses stayed in reach the whole weekend. A beach-style tote was surprisingly handy too, even though we weren’t anywhere near the beach.

I packed swimmers and thongs for the outdoor bath, which turned out to be the right call once we found it perched above the valley. SPF was another must – the sun is strong up there, even when it doesn’t feel like it. I brought my laptop to get a bit of work done during the day (thank you, wifi). A jumper was useful at night when the temperature dropped.

The rest was already waiting for us: robes, kitchen basics, bedding, tea, coffee. You really don’t need much more than your own essentials for a weekend here.
