If there’s one thing Emily in Paris has taught us over five seasons, it’s that fashion is never just background noise — in fact, we’d argue that her outfits are often a significant part of the plot.

Season five, which landed this week, is no exception. If anything, the wardrobe has levelled up: sharper silhouettes, bolder styling, and a renewed confidence that feels distinctly Emily, but more Parisian (and a little bit Italian) than ever. And once again, the show’s fashion DNA bears the unmistakable stamp of legendary costume designer Patricia Field, whose influence ensures each look feels intentional, expressive and a little bit daring. Given her history working with the likes of Carrie Bradshaw and Andy Sachs, is it any surprise that Emily is impeccably dressed?

So, if you’ve found yourself pausing mid-episode to screenshot a jumpsuit, a bag, or an impossibly good pair of heels, you’re in the right place. Below, we break down exactly where to buy Emily Cooper’s most memorable outfits from Emily in Paris season five.

A green ensemble

Our eyes were immediately drawn to this green look. You can’t see it here, but she’s giving us a lesson in pattern clashing, pairing the Sébline shirt and jacket with geometric bermuda shorts by Claudie Pierlot, a green crossbody bag, and a paisley green tote. Not all of it is available online, but we’ve managed to find a few pieces below.

Call It By Your Name Trapeze Bag

SÉBLINE Ruffle Polo Shirt

SÉBLINE Embroidered Smoking Jacket

FRANCESCA BELLAVITA Lollie Bucket Bag

A chic travel look

Doesn’t everyone pull out their matching paisley suit for a day of travel? Naturally, she’s also carrying a FENDI Peekaboo on her journey — fitting, considering FENDI has just announced a capsule collection in collaboration with the show.

Shop the look below.

ALICE + OLIVIA Breann Fitted Blazer

IZIE Highbury Boot

FENDI Peekaboo ISeeU Petite in light burgundy

A dotty matching set

This is arguably our favourite look of the season (so far). And luckily, you can get your hands on just about all of it, below.

For Love and Lemons Dolly Dot Denim Button-Down Top and skort

All aboard the Vespa

What’d we’d give to be riding around Rome in a DVF jumpsuit…

DIANE VON FURSTENBURG Michele printed stretch-jersey wide-leg jumpsuit

SCHUTZ Keefa Platform Heel

Another polka dot set, for good measure

We’re obsessed with the vintage vibes of this look, which comes courtesy of Moschino.

When it comes to new-season bags, the slouchier, the better https://www.russh.com/where-to-buy-slouchy-bag-trend/ Tue, 16 Dec 2025 03:15:16 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=273341 À la Jane Birkin.

The post When it comes to new-season bags, the slouchier, the better appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
There once was a time, in the not too distant past, when polish equalled perfection. Handbags were kept carefully in dust bags, pulled out only for special occasions, and never stuffed too full for fear of damage. But in 2025, we’ve officially entered a new era — one defined by a reach  for staples that exude lived-in sensibilities. We’re talking about designer handbags that we can throw around that carry all of our essentials (lord knows the list is endless), and if you’re brave enough, chuck them down on the floor at a restaurant.

With places to be and junk to carry around, micro purses simply aren’t cutting it anymore. Enter: the slouchy bag. Yes, those softer, relaxed silhouettes have become a symbol of modern luxury, which specialises in laissez-faire. The runway has been no stranger as of late to a slouchy bag, channelling a rushed-out-of-the-house-to-run-errands aura – even down to the handgrip. At Matthieu Blazy’s debut CHANEL collection, bags went down the runway un-fastened — as though their wearer was too busy, too important to close it. Isabel Marant had us dreaming of slouchy, cargo-style bags for Spring Summer 26, while Gucci proved that they style could extend to clutches, too. And Jack and Lazaro then put their flair on the silhouette for Loewe, reimagining the beloved Amazona 180, worn unzipped and half-open. Call it tardiness, but make it chic.

There’s something indescribably chic about having a rotation of signature items that you reach for, always well-loved and always well-worn. Jane Birkin was the blueprint of this silhouette, lugging around her namesake tote rallies and soirées alike, always overflowing with the detritus of a life well lived. It was her identifier, one that encapsulated the authenticity a handbag can represent. And in all transparency, it’s a status we’ve all been chasing since. If you’re looking to covet the silhouette, peep our selects and shop our favourite slouchy bags, below.

7 handbag trends we’re predicting will be everywhere in 2026 https://www.russh.com/handbag-trends-for-2026/ Fri, 05 Dec 2025 05:45:32 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=273549 The RUSSH Editors dissect the biggest handbag trends for 2026, what to look for, and which we're shopping.

The post 7 handbag trends we’re predicting will be everywhere in 2026 appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
Bag trends can often be fickle. They come and go quicker than you can practically (or financially) keep up with, but there are some that feel like they have a little more staying power; bag trends that we can sense aren’t going anywhere, any time soon. And handbag trends in 2026 are shifting toward pieces that feel personal, practical and genuinely lived-in.

After the RUSSH editors reviewed runway collections from SS25, resale data, and the shifts emerging from major fashion Houses, we’ve identified seven bag trends set to define the year ahead. Instead of chasing novelty, designers are revisiting familiar shapes and materials, then adjusting them for how people actually move through the world. We’re seeing worn-leather favourites return with new relevance, compact structures borrowed from utility gear, and playful silhouettes revived from early-2000s wardrobes. There’s also a growing appetite for bags that show signs of use, or invite you to customise them with charms and tools.

Ahead, the key styles to watch – and the ones worth investing in now.

1. The beat-up bag

Balenciaga SS26

About the trend:

The Chloé Paddington and the Balenciaga Le City are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our projected proliferation of the ‘beat-up bag’ in 2026. Business of Fashion just published a whole think piece about how they’ve become a luxury status symbol (with big thanks to the likes of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in the 2000s for catalysing). Of course, we’ve also just seen Jane Birkin’s own famously beat-up Hermès Birkin bag sell for an astronomical price at auction earlier this year in Paris too.

What to look for:

vintage and second-hand bags with that worn-in look (for designer, try Vestiare, The RealReal or Farfetch’s Pre-Owned section)soft and supple leather (like a lambskin, deerskin or nappa leather)don’t be afraid of a little wear and tear (there’s something chic about a bit of patina).

What we’re shopping:

Ralph Lauren Leather Duffel

Coach Empire Carryall Bag 34

Miu Miu IVY Bag in Coffee

2. Bowling bags

Left: CHANEL Métiers d’Art 25. Right: Miu Miu S26.

About the trend:

The nostalgia of the bowling bag has had a grip hold on runways already for the last two years – from Miu Miu and Prada to The Row and Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Lacoste – you name it. Mattheiu Blazy’s CHANEL Métiers d’Art runway in NYC just this week showcased the Maison’s own suede versions. And Who What Wear even noted the trend beginning back in 2024. It’s voluptuous silhouette, practical short handles and ample storage make it a pragmatic choice for those looking to inject a little fun into their wardrobe. You can hold it by the handles or tuck it under the arm (à la Miu Miu), you can buy them large and oversized (à la Prada and Bottega) or you can find yourself a cutesy iteration (à la Acne Studios). Whatever your prerogative, we’re predicting this style will be everywhere in 2026.

What to look for:

full silhouettes with top handlesusually with an upside-down U shapeflat bottoms for ease of perching, curved tops.

What we’re shopping:

Acne Studios Bowlina Bag

Baggu Recycled Leather Bowler Bag

TOTEME Day Tote

3. Chatelaine

Left: Meryll Rogge S26. Right: Missoni S26.

About the trend:

The bag charms aren’t going anywhere in 2026 – but we see the look evolving from plush toys and beaded charms to something a little more sophisticated. We recently re-capped the idea of ‘Having-a-life-core’, which is the latest fad of wanting to be perceived as busy; embodying a lifestyle so rich with plans, projects, and pursuits that your outfit feels like an afterthought. We’re envisioning chic bottle openers, keys, travel paraphernalia, pens, watches, towels, scarves, water bottles, flowers, pottery tools – you name it. Anything that makes you look like you’re on the go.

What to look for:

bags with ample room for appending things onto it (extra handles, pockets, chains or sturdy straps)totes with a sturdy structuretravel-sized items to affix

What we’re shopping:

July Juliette Soft Large Tote

Tanchen Studio Pet-Nat Pet/ KIKU

The Horse Clementine Bag

Kate Spade Charmed Suede Nano Carryall Bag Charm

4. Camera bags

Left: Acne Studios S26. Right: Victoria Beckham S26.

About the trend:

Another offshoot of our fascination with the utilitarian – the camera bag has been reimagined as a fashion accessory. Sure you could just pull out your vintage leather Polaroid case and give it a whirl, but there are also plenty of brands making purpose-made camera bag-adjacent styles more suited for everyday needs. Chloé’s Camera Bag shot off in 2024, Acne Studios introduced their Camero line for the Spring Summer 2025 season (literally inspired by one Creative Director Jonny Johansson used to carry a Polaroid camera), and we’re seeing more and more pop up as we speak.

What to look for:

cubic silhouettespockets and more pockets (especially on the ends of the bag)internal dividers

What we’re shopping:

Chloé’s Camera Bag

Aest Studio Capture Medium Sling Bag

Status Anxiety Nostalgia Camera Bag

5. Barrel bags

Left: Proenza Schouler F24. Right: Max Mar F23.

About the trend:

Cylindrical ‘barrel’ bags are popping up everywhere – an offshoot of the classic East-West bags and their alt cousins, the pillbox bag. They’re characterised by their circular ends, and made popular by modern classics like The Row’s 90s bag. This style is surprisingly roomy and sleek – a minimalist bag lover’s dream. Plenty of fashion publications have weighed in over the last 12 months – from Harpers Bazaar to Who What Wear – and the style has become increasingly popular on runways like Chloé and in retailers like St Agni.

What to look for:

cylindrical shapesminimalist hardwaretop handles.

What we’re shopping:

Reformation Simona Cylinder Bag

St Agni Connolo Shoulder Bag

Christian Dior Pre-Owned Bag

6. Belted bags

Prada SS25

About the trend:

Dua Lipa, Chloë Sevigny, and Hailey Bieber have all been caught donning the style, spearheaded by the likes of Prada Buckle and Miu Miu’s Aventure. Belted bags are already trending now, in 2025, but we’re predicting the style will carry through till 2026 with force. Brands are showing no signs of slowing down on iterations of belted and buckled handbags, so we think we’ll be getting plenty more innovations and riffs on the style. If you’re looking for something a little more minimalist, we’d send you toward brands like Toteme for something sleek, but if you’re looking for chunky buckle vibes, Korean brand Osoi and Australian brand St Agni have iterations we love.

What to look for:

bags with belt-like bucklesbelt-loops at the top of a bag you can loop a belt throughslimmer, more minimal belted bags.

What we’re shopping:

Osoi Brocle Bag

TOTEME Belted Leather Tote

Prada Buckle Bag

7. Fringed bags

Left: Bottega Veneta SS26. Right: Stella McCartney SS26.

About the trend:

Synonymous with the flapper era of the 1920s and later repopularised in the 60s and 70s – the boho aesthetic has seen a resurgence once again in the 2020s. Between Isabel Marant and Chemena Kamali’s Chloé, it felt like we tumbled out of Coquette and into the era of the Coachella free spirit. But brown suede iterations aren’t the only ones popping off – there are plenty of luxurious alternatives from brands like Bottega Veneta, Acne Studios and even Zimmermann. We’re seeing beaded fringe, buttery leather fringe, and even braided fringe.

What to look for:

suede fringe (for more bohemian styles)vintage and second-hand bags from 2000s (for designer, try Vestiare, The RealReal or Farfetch’s Pre-Owned section)beaded fringe bags from brands like Staud and Anthropologie.

What we’re shopping:

Bali Tailor Stella Fringe Bag

Isabel Marant Oskan Bag

Zimmermann Fringed Bag

How to embrace Pantone’s 2026 colour of the year, ‘Cloud Dancer’ https://www.russh.com/pantone-colour-of-the-year-cloud-dancer-trend/ Thu, 04 Dec 2025 21:48:35 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=273484 Here’s how to bring the soothing shade into your wardrobe, beauty routine and home.

The post How to embrace Pantone’s 2026 colour of the year, ‘Cloud Dancer’ appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
Every December, Pantone delivers its annual mood forecast in the form of a single shade — a colour they believe captures where we’re headed. For 2026, that colour is Cloud Dancer: an ultra-soft white they’re describing as “a whisper of tranquility and peace in a noisy world.”

It’s the first time Pantone has ever tapped a shade of white for its coveted Colour of the Year. But zooming out, it makes sense. Rather than leaning into saturation or intensity, Pantone has gone the other way for 2026, choosing a hue that feels almost like a reset. In essence, Cloud Dancer is meant to bring a sense of ease — a pause, a clean slate, a moment of visual silence – in a world that rarely stops moving.

You can already see the the influence of Cloud Dancer taking shape across the cultural landscape. Crisp white featured heavily on the Bottega Veneta Summer 2026 runway, other-worldly bridal-inspired pieces continue to infiltrate Dilara Findikoglu’s collections, while quiet luxury’s penchant for simple, chic shades has refused to die. Take The Row’s Summer 2026 collection for example, where simple, easy-to-wear shades of white bolstered a large portion of the pieces. Beauty has followed suit with milky nails and vanilla fragrances taking over our vanity’s in 2025, as well as diffused matte finishes replacing the high-gloss era. Even interiors are on the cusp of a tonal reset, with plastered walls, chalky ceramics, boucle everything, and warm whites replacing stark gallery neutrals.

Ready to bring a little clarity into the new year? Here are our favourite ways to fold Cloud Dancer into your wardrobe, beauty routine and home.

The jelly sandal is back (and much chicer) https://www.russh.com/best-jelly-sandals-shoes/ Wed, 26 Nov 2025 22:30:52 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=272161 The squishy, candy-coloured shoes of 90s playground fame are back.

The post The jelly sandal is back (and much chicer) appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
If you told us a few years ago that jelly sandals – the squishy, candy-coloured shoes of 90s playground fame – would become the fashion world’s favourite summer accessory, we probably would’ve laughed and slipped back into our leather loafers. And yet… here we are.

Jellies aren’t just back; they’re everywhere, and fashion people are treating them like the second coming of the ballet flat. Honestly? We’re kind here for it.

What’s started the trend?

The renaissance kicked off when The Row, of all brands, sent transparent netted versions gliding down its pre-fall 2024 runway in Paris – minimalist, chic, and just mysterious enough that we all had to zoom in to confirm they were, in fact, made of PVC (they were of course a Row-ified take on the PVC fisherman sandals that ruled the 80s and 90s). But once Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen give something their blessing, the trend cycle basically rolls out a red carpet. And now the floodgates are open: Prada is making jelly fisherman sandals, Chloé has jelly thongs, and Ancient Greek Sandals has practically built an empire around their woven styles.

Why are people wearing them?

What makes this revival so irresistible is the simple mix of practicality and pure childhood joy. These shoes are waterproof, wipe-clean, beach-to-bar ready – and yet they also make people squeal: “I had those in 1995!” Plus, we think they genuinely look good. Whether you’re styling them with denim cutoffs, breezy dresses, or minimalist maxi skirts, jellies add a subtle pop of colour and a wink of playfulness without tipping into costume territory.

And the comfort level? Surprisingly high. Modern jellies are softer, more flexible, and far less blister-inducing than the rigid, neon torture devices of our youth. Reviewers are out here walking to work, running errands, even commuting across London in them with zero Band-Aids required. Sure, they might pick up some grime after a city wander – but hey, that’s what sinks are for.

Would you wear a gardening clog? https://www.russh.com/gardening-shoes-trend/ Tue, 25 Nov 2025 06:15:01 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=272056 Once relegated to the garden or worn as a humble house shoe, the rubber gardening clog has now become fashion's latest fetish.

The post Would you wear a gardening clog? appeared first on RUSSH.

]]>
If fashion has taught us anything over the past few years, it’s that no shoe is too weird or quintessentially “ugly” to become the next big thing. We’ve embraced jelly sandals, tabi flats, even the odd toe-separating silhouette. But the latest contender for style’s most rogue star? The humble gardening clog.

Why are they popular?

But what makes gardening clogs more than a passing curiosity is the philosophy they represent. These shoes celebrate the anti-fashion movement: the idea that style doesn’t have to be complicated, sleek, or precious. Garden clogs are unapologetically practical. They don’t pretend to be elegant. They’re not trying to elongate your leg or showcase meticulous craftsmanship. Their charm lies in their honesty.

Designers have taken note, too. Brands that once leaned into sleek platforms and sculptural heels are experimenting with rubber, hemp blends, waterproof finishes, and earthy tones – from Crocs to Aime Leon Dore to Birkenstock and Dr Marten. You can now find gardening clogs in understated neutrals, glossy high-end versions, and cushy platform interpretations. Whether you gravitate toward a budget-friendly pair or a designer collaboration, the clog has evolved into a shoe you can wear to walk the dog, grab a coffee, or meet friends for wine – rain or shine.

Where did the trend originate?

Once relegated to potting sheds and backyard patios, the rubber footwear of choice for gardening aficionados and Japanese grandfathers has quietly stepped into the centre of the fashion conversation. The appeal is obvious once you look past its potato-like sihouette: these shoes are durable, weather-proof, wildly comfortable, and surprisingly versatile. And in an age when utility has become the new frontier of luxury, the gardening clog’s unpretentious silhouette suddenly feels refreshingly modern.

More specifically, the Plasticana Gardana clog – originally a French gardening shoe made from hemp-based plastic – first gained a following through Brooklyn boutique Salter House, where chefs, dog walkers, and aesthetes from around New York City embraced its earthy, utilitarian vibe. Designer Emily Bode Aujla sent them down her Fall 2020 runway, pushing them into the fashion spotlight.

Digitally, TikTok labeled them the “I live in Brooklyn” shoes, fuelling curiosity around their odd, mottled look. Word-of-mouth hype, limited restocks, and widespread appearances across stylish neighbourhoods solidified the once-obscure clog as a cult favourite. And earlier this year, content creator @alisonhopemurray went viral discussing her quest for the perfect ‘door shoe’ (i.e. those easy-to-slip-on pairs you keep by your front door, perfect for a coffee or bin run), which only furthered the appeal of the style.

Who is wearing gardening clogs?

Across the globe, the whose-who are wearing rubberised clogs with rolled-hem trousers, oversized knits, and even tailored outerwear. Jennifer Lawrence wore a pair earlier this month on a night out, paired with a loose jean and red sweatshirt. Bella Hadid paired hers with a white athletic set and an oversized trucker jacket. Woven shoes are the foot-baring trend we’re obsessed with this summer https://www.russh.com/woven-shoe-trend/ Mon, 24 Nov 2025 23:00:36 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=271973 These are the styles we're shopping.

The post Woven shoes are the foot-baring trend we’re obsessed with this summer appeared first on RUSSH.

Footwear has been flirting with transparency for a while now. Each season, a new foot-baring style seems to take hold, from the Scandi-approved flip-flops (or thongs, as they’re known here in Australia), to a grown-up version of the jelly sandals of our youth. But the latest style to fall in fashion’s favour takes more of a textural route – introducing, the woven ballet flat.

On the Spring Summer 2025 runways, weaving appeared everywhere, signalling a shift toward texture-driven footwear. Gabriela Hearst reworked the classic slingback without actually baring much skin via tightly woven leather, while Fendi took the idea further, styling lattice-like white heels with sheer dresses to create a clean dialogue between transparency and texture.

At Stella McCartney, weaving became bolder, with leather strips formed cage-like heels that showed how adaptable the trend can be. Jacquemus offered a brighter take with yellow woven slingbacks, while Bottega Veneta anchored the trend with its signature intrecciato technique, presenting woven pumps that felt polished rather than seasonal.

One of our favourite things about the woven flat is its versatility – not quite a ballet flat, but not quite a sandal, either. It’s also fairly transseasonal, working just as well with jeans and trousers as it does with longline shorts or a sundress in the summer months, But don’t just let us tell you. Below, shop the woven ballet flats we’re loving this summer and beyond.

Fashion moves fast, but in 2025, the hottest accessory might not be new. In a landscape saturated with fresh drops, history has become its own form of hype, pushing the pre-loved accessories market from niche obsession to cultural barometer.

To carry a vintage bag is to signal a level of taste, and a certain insider fluency — because finding the right piece isn’t easy. You need to know which archives to trawl, and have a finger on the pulse of exactly which silhouettes are about to surge again. This hunt has become part of the appeal, transforming vintage bags from sentimental throwbacks into status symbols.

So, what are this year’s most-wanted carryalls? Luckily, thats where the RUSSH editors come in. From re-issued heroes to the cult favourites finding new life on the arms of a new generation, these are the vintage bags having a second life in 2025.

Balenciaga City

Few bags have boomeranged back into relevance as forcefully as the Balenciaga City. First launched in 2001, the studded Motorcycle silhouette has re-entered the cultural bloodstream thanks to a new-era obsession with Ghesquière-period Balenciaga and the enduring appeal of the soft, unstructured shape. Once a mainstay on the arm of Kate Moss and the Olsen twins, the City Bag has found new relevance thanks to celebrities like Charli XCX, signalling a brand of undone, lived-in glamour.

Celine Phantom

Not fully “vintage” in the chronological sense, but this early-2010s fave has found new life, in part thanks to the beginning of Michael Rider’s tenure at Celine. And so, as a result of the Phantom’s reintroduction in Spring 2026, demand for early iterations has skyrocketed, pushing the tote firmly into 2025’s vintage-inspired conversation.

Fendi Baguette

In 2025, the Baguette has emerged as a true collectors item. Once synonymous with Carrie Bradshaw’s inimatble sense of style, there’s a definite thrill associated with tracking down an original – particularly those hand-beaded or sequinned versions that were never produced en masse.

Chloé Paddington

The Paddington’s return has been one of the year’s most joyful revivals, with an oversized padlock, rounded handles, and east-west silhouette that all feel right at home in the current wave of moto boho dressing. With Chloé’s modern direction embracing archive references, Chemena Kamali reissued the style for its Autumn Winter 2025 collection. But it’s the original early-aughts versions that collectors are seeking out, completing the full-circle moment of the year’s biggest It-bag comeback.

YSL Mombasa

A relic of Tom Ford’s era at YSL, the Mombasa has found fresh relevance among 2025’s vintage enthusiasts. Its defining detail — the sculptural handle, reminiscent of bone or horn — is what really stands out. As fashion leans into silhouettes that look purposely crafted, not mass-produced, the Mombasa stands tall as an original. The ultimate find for those with an appreciation for unique, sculptural arm candy.

Louis Vuitton Speedy

Some bags never truly disappear, and the LV Speedy is testament to that. First created in the 1930s — has surged back to the top of search lists and resale charts this year, driven by renewed fascination with heritage monograms and the proliferation of archival shapes styled with modern minimalism. And of course, a reissue of the silhouette’s famed collaboration with Takashi Murakami has only helped the Speedy’s popularity. Whether carried in classic monogram or in newer, brightly reimagined editions, this is a bag that holds its own across generations.

Dior Gaucho

As boho resurfaces in a more refined, less literal form, Dior’s mid-2000s Gaucho has re-emerged as one of the year’s sleeper hits. The belt-buckle hardware, curved body, and saddle-adjacent silhouette give it a Western-meets-French vibe that aligns perfectly with 2025’s renewed love for eclectic dressing. Watch this space: we’re predicting a full Gaucho resurgence by the year’s end.

The poncho is back — these are the styles we’re shopping https://www.russh.com/poncho-trend-where-to-buy/ Thu, 13 Nov 2025 00:45:37 +0000 https://www.russh.com/?p=257686 We're all about gently draped shapes in buttery silks and cosy cashmeres.

The post The poncho is back — these are the styles we’re shopping appeared first on RUSSH.

It’s not a revival we saw coming, but in 2025, the poncho is back. Once the uniform of the early-2000s indie sleaze movement, the poncho has returned in a slightly more refined form. No longer sported exclusively by Sienna Miller at Glastonbury, today’s iterations are more sculpturally elegant, with gently draped silhouettes in buttery silks and cosy cashmeres.

Several designers have made a strong case for the poncho’s return in recent seasons. Cast your mind back to Autumn Winter 24, and Chemena Kamali riffed on the poncho silhouette in various forms at Chloe — from cropped leather styles with a utilitarian edge, to white lace capes draped delicately over models’ shoulders. That same season, Moschino had us dreaming of being wrapped up in ponchos of the knitted variety, cut on an angle so as to gently graze the ground. Rabanne followed suit, imagining the poncho in heavier, outwear-ready fabrics, juxtaposed in a variety of vibrant prints. And at Bottega Veneta’s Autumn/Winter 2024 show, Matthieu Blazy offered up ponchos in soft, architectural knits, often oversized and gently draped at the neck.

As these things so often do, the poncho has trickled into the wardrobes of fashion’s It girls in recent months. Buci NYC has made a case for the style as a going-out essential, with lightweight airy styles in semi-sheer silks. For something that a feels a little more seasonally appropriate (if you’re reading this from Australia, that is), COS has dipped its toes into the trend with a cape-style coat that straddles the line between a poncho and a jacket.

You need only scroll TikTok or Instagram for a few short minutes to see exactly how we’re styling the poncho in 2025. Some are opting for sheer styles paired with relaxed low-slung trousers, while others are playing with proportion in knitted ponchos, mini skirts, and thigh-high boots.

So, consider this your sign to revisit the piece you swore you’d never wear again — or to invest in one that feels like a grown-up version of your early-2000s self. The poncho is back, and this time, it’s staying.
